I think it’s interesting how it moves. It sort of stretched downward. Reminds me of something from the old SNES Contra 3 game. There were alien eyeballs there too.
You don’t get this sort of dramatics with a disembodied ear or finger. You ever see a severed finger get upset like this? NO, you don’t. It sits right there in the big electronic box and lets you warp time & space like a properly severed Eldritchian digit.
Wally understands that the Eye is NOT all powerful. Marx essentially defeated it. It could not keep Wally’s “soul.” Duffy used the amulet to fend it off.
Terrence has good reason to hate the Eye, it took over and killed all his colleagues. Having (more or less) survived a takeover by the Eye, he might be a little immunized to its power.
Notice how the two kids are hugging each other. They presumably have not encountered this pestilence before. Obviously it would be scary, though.
Their presence may inspire further resistance from the Wally, Duffy, and Terrence.
They found the exit, which is a hole in the ceiling. But where would the exit take them? Eden is in a "pinched-off’ glob of existence. When the group looked into the hole (in previous strip), Eye was moving in it. The Eye was sort of backlit, maybe from brightness behind it. When Eye oozed out of the ceiling opening, was it followed by a big, bright dose of dimensional chaos from the other end of the tunnel? Also…if it is “Eye”, it is still strangely silent-no gloating, no threats, no commands to surrender to their fate.
You know, I think I liked this strip better when it was mutants vs. topsiders. I can’t seem to wrap my brain around this multi-verse stuff – and I’m pretty sure Aaron doesn’t want us to, either.

“I have Visine and I know how to use it!”
Duffy appears to be clutching the talisman and pouring his will and desperation into it for protection. It may work.

Possibly a poor choice of words there, Wally.

Going out on a limb here. Might be overthinking a wee bit. This could be a lead up to a Halloween strip.
