I heard they kicked Dave out because he didn’t have the head of hair to be a Beatle. Well maybe a dung beetle.

Here comes the pun? Well, I say it’s all right…

So Dave got together with 4 other guys (one of them named Clark) and they formed the Dave Clark Five.

No goo goo ka zoo?

The first concert I went to see was the Dave Clark Five. If memory serves (it was a longggg time ago), it was in Newark NJ.

Just how do you play one of those things, anyway?

Just be a duo… Dave and Ralphfinkle is an option.

Not a team player. You lack a ‘mop top’.

It turned out Paul was an accomplished kazoo player. He played the solo on Ringo’s version of “You’re Sixteen”.

Take a sad song and make it better! (However, with a kazoo, this is debatable..)

Dave went on to join the Lawrence Welk Show, upstaging Lawrence’s accordion.

That’s where that koo, koo kazoo came from.

I was just looking over my memories on Facebook and saw it was National Kazoo Day (I shared odd holidays with my friends for a couple years) so I had to come see what Dave Whamond picked for today. Not disappointed! :-)

They eventually wrapped up Dave in bubble wrap.

Too Bad, with Dave at the helm The Beatles might have made it.

Looks like someone forgot about Billy Preston!

…and I can’t help but wonder why Dave doesn’t like to talk about it…hmmm???

You could’ve played backup kazoo in Lady Madonna.

The original kazoo made of metal in its current shape was produced in Eden, NY. in 1916. The factory is still making them using the same machines. (We are pretty conservative.) Buffalonians are proud to claim that kazoos are a Buffalo product. As far as I know this is the only manufacturer of kazoos in the Americas. Those little plastic toy kazoos do not produce a reasonable tone. Over one and a half million sold.
