Yeah John, that’ll help her sleep!

So much for that peaceful slumber.

She buys groceries daily?

Your day is still crazy. The dot pattern on your nightgown changed itself from horizontal to vertical.

And if you could change it all, Elly—what would you do?

Really John, isn’t it about time you learned to keep your yap shut? Since you can’t be more helpful…

You get eight hours?

Has she mixed up her time-line? How would she know that the car wouldn’t start AFTER she lost her car keys?

The only way i figure is that she is an expert car thief and she knows how to hot wire the car’s starter wires!

But then the car would have started, so, she isn’t that such a great car thief.

Yeeesh…

That reminds me of a time when I had an extremely bad week at work and one of the production managers was standing right next to me. I said out loud “Thank God the weekend is almost here”. He replied back “It will be Monday before you know”. Normally, I wouldn’t had been so bummed, but the guy was a sour puss to begin with.

This is one of the reasons why my husband & I do our grocery shopping early on Saturday morning. We’re both early risers anyway. It beats the crowds & doesn’t crash into our daily (or, in my husband’s case, nightly) work schedule. Of course, things are a LITTLE easier now with both girls in college.

It’s easy to get into a rut, that’s true.

At least she gets 8 hours!

A living nightmare!

He should have added. “Pleasant dreams.”

He means well…but I honestly wonder if John actually THINKS before he speaks sometimes.

But, it’s Saturday!

I can tell this strip is from up north because Ellie and John always pull the covers right up to their chins, hee!

Way to make her feel better, John!

I have come to see unrelenting “go go go!” pressure as a major threat to life in much of the world.

In the next panel that would have been shown, John is sleeping on the couch with a confused look on his face.

Ah yes, the North American Dream in Action. Which explains why the more laid back Europeans have a longer life expectancy by between two and five+ years for both men and women than those who live in the US of A and Canada.

Always the optimist

Instead of whining, Elly should appreciate how good she has it. Elly lives in a country where:

*She gets food stamps.

*She has free healthcare.

*She has public housing

*April has free daycare

*Elizabeth has free school

*Michael has free college

*Her parents get social security

In fact, the only thing Canadians probably do pay for is dental care. The one who has problems is John!

Cause for insomnia!

LOL… John has it made compared to Elle.

Called life……

Wow, Ellen, are you sure there isn’t anything you forgot to include in that list of excuses?

Lynn could have gotten several weeks’ worth of material out of all that, but she squeezed it all into one strip’s worth of offstage exposition? If she’s so spoiled for choice with storylines, we must be in for some exciting stuff coming up!

Define “crazy”…

Why couldn’t John get groceries? He’s a dentist, I don’t think he works overtime (or not often!).

I wonder what it’d be like to get 8 hours of sleep.

And repeat, for 40 years.
