Another day being forced into Calvin’s room with no dinner.

It’s good to have goals in life.

Her mom looks scary like her head is a skull in the 3rd panel!

Leftovers from last week? YUCK!! I’m definitely on Calvin’s side here.

I envision a very different scenario, starting with Mom saying, “Okay,” and calmly removing his plate in panel #2, and ending with Calvin willingly eating his dinner in panel #4. But that would be boring. :-)

No jury in the world would find her guilty of murder.

That’s what kids do. I can’t name how many of Son’s “favorite, why are we always out of…” I bought a dozen of, only to find that he was DONE with them. Certainly this includes Kraft Mac-n-cheese, chicken ramen and Vienna sausages. On the other hand, he still eats Cheerios straight out of the box, just like he did 40+ years ago.

Wondering if Calvin might be a cat

My wife and daughter have this kind of relationship.

And people wonder why my wife and I had a DOG!

And Calvin’s mom asks herself for the thousandth time “What did I ever do to deserve this kid?”

Is it any wonder why some parents just up and abandoned their families?

Wonder why Calvin is an only child.

I just love the way Bill Watterson draws faces, especially Calvin’s and moms face in panel three. Calvin’s really going to make his mom go crazy. This one is so funny today!

If Calvin’s rear isn’t already warm in that seat, his seat’s gonna be warmed in some other fashion in about one-two!!

For someone who didn’t have kids at the time, Bill Watterson portrayed them perfectly in C&H.

I swear that right eyeball looks ready to pop out.

As number 4 of 5, I can say without doubt that I gave my Mom most all of her gray hairs. My siblings would all agree.

I learned NOT to comment on the food that was put on the table. I just ate it and KEPT MY MOUTH SHUT, especially while chewing or I heard about that ! ! ! !

Can we get a gray hair toll in the chat?

When my son was a little kid, he bought into all the advertising hype, and had to have brand name everything. At one time he had a taste for sugar frosted flakes for breakfast. I wanted to get the generic version, which was half the price. He insisted that the name brand was better and refused to eat the generic. So, I bought him the name brand, and when he had eaten it all, I kept the box and filled it with the generic. Of course, he never knew the difference.

When he was a little older, but still eating the flakes, I asked him how he liked them. He said they were good. I told him then what I had done and how long he had been eating the generic brand.

I thought he was going to slug me. Made my point, though.

Calvin’s expression in the last panel says, “I am happy in my work”.

If its the same meal from last week, Calvin has a point.

That was my oldest son.

Calvin doesn’t understand that his strategy will eventually end up in mom giving up even trying to please him.

My cats are the same way!

If I had done that, I would have had dad’s shoe marks all over my butt, no dinner, and bed early.

It was great the first time around. Time has tempered the first impression. The newness is gone. If this was a jukebox. I’d hold on to my quarter.

This is why some decisions are best left until maturity.

Sometimes children have nutritional cravings. Unfortunately, more often it is advertising propaganda craving, instead.

If you really were to eat your favorite meal every day for the rest of your life, no matter what it was, you’d definitely be hating it before long.

LOL… Calvin takes another step towards his ultimate becoming an adult sadistic narcissist.

It shouldn’t be any problem for mom. He eats it or goes hungry. No need for her to get upset.

I think Calvin’s mother should know better than to take her son’s comments seriously. She should watch how his father treats him.
