I’ve got it all down except once every couple of years when she makes something different that requires a tool, measuring device, etc. I’ve never seen.
I taped labels on eachof the cabinets and drawers as to what is i them. Actually it was done when we had a pot luck dinner and I knew I would spend a week afterwards trying to find things unless everything was labeled. It worked then and continues to do so.
I wash ‘em all and put away the ones that go on “my side” of the kitchen — we have an island layout, and my side has the sink, hers has the stove. The rest, I put in the dish drainer and she puts them away after they’re dry so she can find them where she expects them.
When you live alone everything is always exactly where you left it – if you can remember having the item in the first place. When you live with others – everything is chaos and paranoia
Whoever works in the kitchen the most, and washes the dishes, knows where and what cabinets/drawer’s things belong. In this case, it’s Opal that is in the kitchen the most. So why doesn’t Earl just put things on the cupboard/table and Opal (should) put it all away. End of subject.
Pretty common game. My beloved plays it when using any of my tools….I think they are still mine and still exist somewhere. She doesn’t know because she never paid attention. I have to work backward in time to see which project site still has them - if any.
When some know-it-all kid joined the staff at a soup kitchen I volunteered at she took it upon herself to sanitise and rearrange the kitchen. As IF I didn’t keep my area and supplies in top condition! GRR! You know, it took me an hour to find it all. I then put it back where I had been keeping it for years.
Looks like the thing my Grandma and Mom used to “crimp” pastries and pies. (Crimping is putting that decorate “in-and-out” edge on the crust to ensure it’s properly sealed.)
A couple of weeks ago we found out the week before that landlord was doing apartment inspections, first time they ever did that but there was a particular tenant that it was for, long story. Anyways, I had a sink and drainer full of dishes that I hadn’t gotten put away and I also had a horrible week again so Dad was down here doing most of the cleaning and he washed and put dishes away and admitted to me that he just put them where he found space and I would have to look for something if it wasn’t in its normal spot and I was fine with that until about 3 days later I was looking for a specific mug I use for water and couldn’t find it in any of the cupboards after looking twice, so when he came down later that evening like he usually does I asked him where it was and he went in kitchen and came right back with it and he said it was in the cupboard by the big freezer, and I looked at him stangely and said to him that is tghe food cupboard and he said he warned me he was putting stuff where he found space and he found space in there. I still have to go around and rearrange the cupboards to way I had them but haven’t had energy to do it yet so I just look wherever still.
Where the husband puts the thing becomes the correct place as soon as the wife stops doing the dishes, but only for as long as it takes for the husband to forget again.

My Daughter has lots of fancy mugs, and I never can figure out where they can all fit in the cupboard, she has no problem!

Actually, we figure kitchen utensils come alive during the night and go exploring.

Why is where the wife puts the utensils correct and where the husband puts them incorrect?

Beware, Earl – two can play at that game! Opal’s revenge should be interesting.

No different than our tools. There’s a place for everything, and everything in its place.

Hubby can always find what he wants without looking for it, but somehow, he can never remember where it goes when he empties the dishwasher.
Yeah, I have a husband who cooks and cleans up after himself, and I’m complaining about it. Some people are never happy.

It goes in the ‘things’ drawer. Or a hook on the ‘hanging things’ rack.

And then it’s a long time before grandma allows grandpa to wash the dishes. Isn’t that the plan Earl?

Putting them back where you got them is usually correct.
