Responsibility with no authority .. yeah, right! Where have I heard THAT before?

The problem with most of the giant-corp CEOs is that the bucks DO stop there. Alas, they’re the money type bucks.

That’s actually a trick some corporations use all the way down the food chain. They promote an hourly employee to a salary job with a schnazzy title, but don’t actually give them a raise and take away their ability to earn overtime. Often, their job doesn’t change much either, except for the fancy title. Like Corral Manager. Meaning you are now responsible for bringing in the shopping carts on top of watching over a few employees. Guess it looks good on a resume, but not so good for your pocket book.

“HERE!” (throws it at the head of his now ex-boss).

Then goes back to his desk to clean out his personal belongings and leave.

In this case, A Piece of the Action = All of the Blame.

The whacking of fall guy’s summery disposition.

He’s the Director of the Office of Climate Change and White Supremacists . Not really the buck stopping there, but the blame for everything else is because of Climate Change and White Supremacists.

The story line of “Fun with Dick and Jane”.

Obfuscation is the elixir of the dream makers, and enticement is the lure. The description of the job for which one is hired rarely matches the actuality.

That ‘bright’ future actually resembles the view in a snow globe. When the shaking ceases, the limits become clear.

The hint that there are ‘brighter prospects in one’s future’ is also true. But first one has to deal with the never ending present.

“Jones, you did a swell job eliminating everyone in the Bearing Dept. Of course, you are now redundant. Tough break, these things happen, don’t be a stranger, I’m sure you’ll bounce back. Don’t slam the door on the way out.”

I once worked at a bank that used the title of “officer” as an indication of a promotion. All officers obtained access to the Executive Dining Room. On the down side, the cost of the daily meal was deducted from the officer’s monthly paycheck. There was an employee who was promoted to officer that ate very little for lunch. He went home and told his wife “I have some good news and some bad news. First the good news: I got a promotion today! Now for the bad news, I am going to take a cut in pay!!”

This is why & how corporate execs get paid millions for mediocrity.

5 phases of a project:

…enthusiasm …

…disillusion…

…search for the guilty…

…punishment of the innocent …

…praise and glory for the non-participants…

We used to say about those types of promotions: Name on the Door; Bigelow on the Floor; and No Money More!

I hear “A Piece Of The Action” I think “Star Trek”.

Ideally, the boss would finish his sentence with “Here”, while handing him the “Here”. :) :) :)

He gets a piece of the action. Just be sure not to bend over.

I once had a girlfriend who worked as a receptionist at a very pretentious real estate company, where everyone had to have some sort of posh title. Hers was Director of First Impressions

Opens walk-in closet. “Welcome to your new office. Watch out for the mop bucket.”

That sums up being a security guard. Or anyone who wears a uniform. All targets of abuse.

There’s always an opening for a scapegoat.

Pauses with the flunky, disappears in someone’s off shore private account.

I stand by what I said . I’ll believe what and who I want , the Democrats are just not trustworthy at all . I’m sorry to say , I pray that I’m wrong about some of them , because I believe that some of them do really do love our country : )
