My dad’s parents and a couple of his sisters were Volga Germans, born in Russia. I’ve traced his side of our family back to where they lived in southern Germany in the late 1700’s, when they emigrated to the Volga region.
So Captain Eddie is saying he was brought here against his will? But I’ll bet he thinks he’s not like a whole lot of other people who were brought here against their will, mainly to work in the cotton industry.
All mine came over on ships in the 19th Century. Being Irish Catholics they were greeted warmly. Until the “real” Americans found new ethnic groups to pick on. And my ancestors, having learned from the best, joined in the fun.

That was his ancestor Capt BeCee, who begat Capt ADee, which eventually led to Capt EDdie.

My family was here before Ellis Island was built. I realize the importance of immigration. I live under the roof of an immigrant who is now a citizen.

The native Americans arrived via the Bering land bridge, from Siberia to Alaska, about 15,000 years ago. (Some say 23,000).
The Siberian Husky was domesticated 30,000 – 40,000 years ago.
Logical conclusion: The Siberian Husky was the first Asian across the land bridge, by the length of a dog sled team.

Fortunately, some of my ancestors were already there, and let him join their tribe.
