First week of September…that’s MY anniversary!!! My husband & I were married over Labor Day weekend because his mother wanted us to do it while she was up visiting, giving us 3 days to arrange the whole thing…which we did.
One might hope that having the wedding on such short notice means they won’t compel their friends to waste a lot of time and money on pointless frippery. One might hope.
I was an engineering student and my wife was teaching high school. We wanted 27 Dec 1973 but it was a problem for several people, so we moved it to 22 Dec 1973. My wife was teaching until noon, the day before and I got off a couple of days before, I think. I invited my class mates but I think the only ones around over Christmas were the foreign students, including 9 Nigeriens and 3 from other countries.
Did I miss an arc somewhere after Farley died? I seem to remember a bit where Gordon cuts a deal with John and Ellie if John co-signs the loan for Gordon to buy the garage
As I explained onTuesday we had to move our wedding from end of June to mid April because of his mother, the invitations had just come from the printer so me, my mom and my sister spent a day gently whiting out original wedding date and putting new date in and sent them out with a little note explaining that with the date being moved up on short notice there would be no reception but anyone that wished to bring gifts just to bring them to where we were getting married. Only about 1/3 of the people invited showed up and I was a bit upset about it but I just figured it was because of the short notice. Well, I found out about 15 years later that when his mother was asked why we moved up date she said she had no idea because we didn’t tell her, which was a lie, the reason was stated in my comment Tuesday, and the close friends that told me this said that a lot of people didn’t come because they thought we had done something wrong and that is why we moved wedding up and they didn’t think it was proper, appartently his mother was making it sound like I was pregnant and had to move wedding up. She was truly evil right from the start.

What are your college-age friends doing the first weekend in September, Gordon? I suspect they are all starting their next year of college.

If there were any plans they just changed! And yes there could be issues with college attendance, but that can be overcome.
