The ball and chain is out to get you

The important thing is “How does it taste?”

Are we all seeing the same cartoon? He killed the birds!

I have no idea what this means.But here’s a guess:they are all playing dead to get his sympathy and give them some bread;as in, ‘Look at me, I’m so hungry, I fainted!’Either that, or his odor eaters failed, but we have no evidence of anyone seen videos of begging monkeys? Tho with them it’s sometimes more like, they’re spreading their arms out as if to say, "hey, look, wadda I gotta do to get some food?’Then there are the ones – are they in Thailand? Or, um, malaysia or Indonesia? – who steal peoples’ valuables then barter them back for food.

Alternate ending for the Hitchcock film “The Birds”.

In my hometown there is a city park, takes up a whole block in the center of town. There is a fountain with goldfish in it. In the very middle a covered circular gazebo. A couple of civil war era canons on the corners, plus a large marble water fountain. Mostly though, as a kid spending endless hours playing there I remember the old, retired gentlemen sitting on the park benches feeding the pigeons….yeah. Thats on my bucket list to someday go back there, take my place on one of those benches and complete my circle of life. I appreciate todays comic. Thankyou. :-)

He took out his sandwich, but before eating it he gave the tip to the birds. Now, seeing the dead birds, he begins to wonder if he really should bite into the sandwich. And possibly if the person who made this sandwich for him might have some shady design toward him. And since it is a Herman comic, it would logically be his wife who made the sandwich.

Maybe it was really stinky cheese.

Commentary on the American diet? Missing a caption? Clue in the type of bird it might be?

Okay, is something missing? I don’t get it.

Maybe he fed the first half to the birds; and after one bite of the 2nd half, he notices the birds (and feels “defeeted”).

Maybe they fainted from the realization that he’s eating a chicken salad sandwich. Or he fed them a little and the birds are proof that his wife is trying to kill him.

And he has no feet,

I think we need a little more input on this one. I can’t make out what it all means.

A dramatic attempt to cadge food from a guy who isn’t interested.

The birds ate everything, even some of the paper bag the treats came in. They ate themselves into a stupor.

At least they weren’t baked in a pie

He’s thinking twice about that sandwich now.

not sure i’d eat the rest of the sandwich though. … aw who am i kidding. i’m hungry

If there are twenty four he can sing a song of sixpence and bake up a pie.

Maybe the cartoonist neglected to draw in bare feet that gassed all of the birds.

Too cryptic to be funny.

Best guess: he’s eating deviled ham, and the smell killed the birds.

the coloring makes it look more like he was poisoning penguins in the park… ☺
