Nothing unusual about announcing on social media you’ll be taking a break from social media. People who follow you might get concerned by your absence if they didn’t know you were taking a break.
Since I was so far REMOVED from “social media,” while talking to a couple(2) of individuals, that I completely forgot what it was called when you post ANYTHING in the “internet,” I guess my “sugar” metaphorical intake is NIL!!!! Dan aka…ps…(apparently, for an insanely LONG time…)
Actually, announcing a break makes sense if you have people who expect to see you online daily. It’s fair to let them know why they won’t see you for awhile. Who knows, some might even worry if you just disappear.
If you don’t make a post saying you won’t be making anymore posts, your phone will soon blow up.However, if you make a post saying you are leaving a group, then stick around to see if anyone begs you to stay, you are a bit of a joke
I think it’s fair to post a break announcement. Depends on how engaged the person is on the platform and how many people might be alarmed at sudden radio silence.
I quit Facebook. It takes a month from the time you request your account deleted and when the account is actually deleted. My last post was to my few Facebook "friends"’ that I was cancelling Facebook, so when I disappear from their friends list, that is the reason… it is not that I unfriended them.
When people feel the need to post on social media that they’re taking a break from it, or post to “apologize” for having been away, you can tell they’re feeding their narcissistic tendencies.

If he also said, “This will be my last donut,” it would actually be a more dramatic way to renounce sugar.

I was going to take a break from Facebook, but then I realized I’m not even on it.

Franklin said it best: “Fools’ names and fools’ faces oft appear in public places”.I think that captures Facebook perfectly.

I often take 30-60 day breaks from all social media websites, but on the Messenger app I keep in touch with those who want to talk to me.

I’m sure he prefaced it with something like, “..this’ll be my last post for a while,” dorky Rat. Think.

Do comments sections count as Social Media? Asking for a friend.

I don’t really use social media. I just have those accounts to look at pictures and read articles.

Face it… Rat and The❤️Count are the two wisest being you know. Oh, and of course, The Wise Asp on the Hill.

The ONLY way to take a rest from social media is NOT TO POST on social media.

It’s not an airport. You don’t need to announce your departure.

Anyone who posts “I’m taking a break from social media” is going to check it at least 50 times a day to see how people are reacting. Guaranteed.

Dang, based on yesterday’s strip, I was hoping for a Croc story arc. Oh well, I’m not even sure Pastis does story arcs anymore.

I guess Rat doesn’t appreciate announcements to let people know you haven’t dropped off the face of the Earth. FYI, the last panel is redundant.

If anyone cares, yes, Cartoon Boy did split the infinitive on Rat’s last comment. Bad in Latin; fine in English.
