Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Wait a minute! Whereâs Masonne Jarre? Whereâs Harry Dinkleberg? Where are the endless âwisecracksâ about Claude Barlowâs music? We actually get Ed Crankshaft for a second day in a row, in what looks like an actual storyline? Cushlamachree!
On the other handâŠwhy did Centerville resident Ed go all the way to Westview to look for a sponsor for his senior softball squad? Did the Dale Evans, Village Booksmith, Fast Fitness, Margo Lanes, and Cupcakes for Cats (formerly Centerville Hardware) all turn him down?
On the third handâŠYou gotta love that Mopey Pete tells Mindy they need to talk about sponsoring the team before agreeing to it, when last Fall he decided to quit his Atomik Komix gig and made a deal with Pizza Box Monsters to buy the shuttered Montoniâs without letting her know until essentially after the fact. Also, good to see Montoniâs is doing as brisk a business now as it did when Funky owned the joint.
HmmâŠLetâs see â those two are struggling to keep a business afloat, while you having a job which you do nothing to earn the pay from. What a guy.
Letâs pause and appreciate the return of Crankshaft to the daily strip. This is the first time weâve seen him during the week in over a month. So letâs hope for no more crankshaft cameos while the rest of the strip is mindless dribble about side characters that shouldâve died long ago. Hereâs to crankshaft, may he become the star of his comic strip once again.
3 characters, 2 of whom are Funkybeaners. Set in a Funky Town Pizza Place. We have Montoni Sighting! YEAH, Crankshaft is âback.â To sit in the background as the Weinerbeaners dominate the week. My guess: Next week is all Komix Korner.
Nowwaitsaminute. Was not Mopey Guy and Mindy Gal works in some kinda Komix Kompany? What is they does workeeng in Monotonys? And when they is opens new branch in Centerville? Or is Cranky going to Weenkerbeanville?
The SSSSPSS? Or as we call âem, âThe Slow Leakersâ? Anybody wanna see an outfielder break a hip? Ainât the Guiding Light â whatever that means â still on?
For a while last week I thought we were building to some kind of a, whatchacallit, high point or climaxâŠand now, squish, I get totally let down. I must have low self-esteem, to keep coming back to a comic that treats me like dirt.
The antics and hi-jinks of Cranky and his geriatric cohorts playing baseball and coping with old-persons-playing-sports-problems for the next week or two almost sounds interesting.
Of course, this means weâll actually be getting two weeks of Mopey & Mindy discussing whether or not to sponsor the team, instead.
âSorry. Weâve already been tapped to cater the new âStarbuck Jonesâ movie. Never mind that itâs three weeks from premiere, The Actor, Masonne Jarre, is in town lining up film score and services.â
It seems Mopey Pete has inherited one of your favorite characters, rag, from Cory Winkerbean. Please drop a line to your old friends at SoSF sometime. We miss you.

You might want to think this over. The t-shirts wonât cost that much, but the cost of walkers and players insurance is a real doozy.

I would never sponsor a team that would have me as a sponsor.
sueb1863 10 months ago
Do they understand that to sponsor something means they have to fork over a lot of money? Do they have a lot of money to spare for that?
