Opal was never a kid? Hard to believe she didn’t like candy then.

Zucchinis are incredibly toxic.

That’s my story and I’m sticking with it.

I’d take zucchini over candy corn!

Strangest zucchini garden ever…

Do we have candy? No, she has a stash somewhere (remember the “missing” chocolate chips?)

My wife put the zucchini plants in pots this year, which restricted their growth and the size of the zucs. Good plan.

Opal just make loaves of zucchini bread with walnuts and raisins and cream cheese icing and give some away and you’ll have people asking you for more—that is if Earl hasn’t eaten them all.

Opal, young people have always liked candy over Zucchini!

Duh. That’s like giving out bricks on Valentines day instead of valentines cards, and acting all surprised when the recipient tosses the brick through your window.

Earl is my dad. Us kids got the chocoholic gene from him. Yes!

Maybe zucchini grows should try offering them as a trick or treat option, it’s worked for potatoes.

We had a neighbor that would skulk around at night and leave vegetables on all our front porches. About as close to the Great Pumpkin as you’re likely to get.

How about a compromise and give away some bread’n butter zucchini?

Opal needs to nourish her inner child — go buy her some candy, Earl.

I gotta admit, doing a Halloween related story arc after Halloween is pretty clever. Well done Brian!

I can’t believe that kids back when Opal was young would rather have had veggies than candy. Kids haven’t changed that much.
