Caulfield has the staff guessing his next characterization. Happens every year. Some make correct guesses but the list of possibilities makes for good reading.
If your Halloween costume doesn’t give enough clues for anyone to guess it, it’s a fail. Knowing Caulfield, it will be something literary. But that doesn’t narrow it down much.
I haven’t gotten this yet, but I do know (and everyone at Bryson should!) that Caulfield chooses literary characters, not art images. But as to a guess: how about “The Turn of the Screw” by Henry James?
