I prefer the counter. The ceramic roll holder in my house is further back than the toilet and closer to the floor. I installed a new one but still the counter siding is still really close. I would be hitting my upper prison wallet all the time.

Years ago, one of my grandnephews was too embarrassed to use the toilet because the elf was on a shelf in the bathroom. He made his grandmother (my sister) turn the elf around to face the wall first.
