Wikipedia says that "Sicherheitsdienst (German: [ˈzɪçɐhaɪtsˌdiːnst], “Security Service”), full title Sicherheitsdienst des Reichsführers-SS (“Security Service of the Reichsführer-SS”), or SD, was the intelligence agency of the SS and the Nazi Party in Nazi Germany."
You only get one guess about what the other factory was that they were about to target.
Old Rottentott looks glad he did what he did and would do it all over again. The guy in the glasses, up front, looks Japanese, perhaps a Colonel, going by the bird on his hat.
I had an uncle who was in charge of one part of making the famous Norden bombsight. Parts were made at different locations to help keep it secret from spies. Parts were then sent to a top secret heavily guarded location for final assembly. I imagine that secret didn’t last long when one was retrieved from a shot down B-17, and possibly then copied.
I know some readers complain about the pacing of this story arc (maybe they prefer minit mysteries). I’m finding this one interesting – more like a novel than a short story. Lots of bits and pieces to fit together. I just hope the end doesn’t disappoint.
So, Sam suspects that Tater Tot is planing to blow up a long time closed, and now being converted into a shopping center, by his father’s company) factory, just because his grandfather couldn’t accomplish it back in the 1940s?
And how does that even remotely tie into the first two months of pointless rambling in this story?
Uh, while we let in a number of Nazis after WW II ‘cause they swore they hated Joe Stalin they usually had to lie about what they did during the war, and claim they’d been innocent of war crimes. Anyone who worked for the SS and was boasting about terrorism work in the US would have never been let in. Or, rather, have spent years in a Federal Penitentiary. If there are any sharks left to jump in this groaner, we’ve gone over another.
Are we now to believe that Gramps passed the story of his war crimes down to his son (and grandson) so Jr. in his confused mental state would think it’s time to rebuild the Reich? If so, he’s too crazy to hold a job making pizza – let alone the #2 spot at a huge construction firm.
And where does Springy come in? And why did Jr. kill him. Was Springy here to stop Jr.? And how did Jr. know and feel a need to kill him? Did Springy come here to give Jr. lessons in terrorism, and if so why did Jr. kill him? Had Springy given Jr. terrorism lessons and had guessed Jr.’s plan and was here to blackmail him? And why was this done at a TA center, which should have been secure? Was Springy, a freelance terrorist, working on the side of the angels and was actually here for the Mossad to stop Jr.?
We started with a full week of logic… All before the narrative started. Since then we’ve exhausted our supply of sharks.
I do like the images today . There is something about the color ? But I’m not sure what it is ? But once again I do like it : ) I really do still miss Shelleys images : )
1- SAM: Walther wasn’t all bad. He invented the Walther PPK – the pistol James Bond preferred over all others…
2- : And when the Allies got a hold of him, he gave up all rights to it and…
3- : …volunteered his expertise so that they could be accurately manufactured at The Seilla Company! However…
4- : …He made one odd demand…
5-: …that the clock in the Two Foxes Tower never again be allowed to either indicate the time OR be lit up. It seems that it had originally been designed by his father, Moshe Shimon Menachem Tottentanz – a real embarrassment to a Nazi like Walther. Anyway, the powers-that-be at that time agreed to anything if it got them what they wanted – in this case, the Walther PPK.LEE: Ummm…Sam did you make all that up?
SAM: Yeah. My investigation was, as usual, useless, pointless and valueless. SAY – IT’S TIME FOR LUNCH!
That Collins flashback about a Xylon bomb laying dormant in a cellar for 40 years until Pruneface could order it used…..not exactly “in continuity” but still good.

If they wanted to do a story about WWII-era Nazi saboteurs in TracyVille, couldn’t they have just stuck with Pruneface?

I think someone needs their A.D.D. medication…this story is quite possibly the MOST CONVOLUTED non-sensical, tedious offering we’ve had in a long time
