What a pathetic mob! Not a single pitchfork! They should move to a more affluent neighborhood… and build their Barbie Dreamhouse there.

after seeing these comics why would anyone buy a house where there is a HOA?

If you are forced to join a HOA you should invest in a GAU 8!

It’s always ironic to hear some American people who live within HOA criticize communism. Living with a HOA is just like living in pre-unification East Germany. And willingly.

Whenever we were looking at a house, I’d ask if there was a homeowner’s association. If the realtor said yes, I’d say no.

Yes, I’ve heard of HMAs going overboard; this is quite the amusing hyperbole.

They don’t have anything else to complain about?

Where on earth can you find a pink garden hose? The common ones are green and black.

It’s never the home OWNERS of an HOA that make and enforce stupid rules, it’s those who run for and get into office for their own ends.

It’s even worse on a cul-de-sac.

I could interpret this as the other residents are jealous that they didn’t break the hose rules first. They could be rejoicing at the change – if one person can get away with breaking a rule, they all can. I don’t know what color the sun is on my planet since I haven’t seen it in days. It’s all clouds and cold out there. And snow. Lots of snow.

Unrealistic. The HOA people are depicted as way too calm and reasonable.

HOAs are where the incompetent petty tyrants find their happy places.

Most retirement communities have HOAs, I have one but I intend to look for a home 4 miles away in an older neighborhood with no HOAs.

I still don’t know how HOA’s are legal. It’s like they have their own separate system of government outside the State and Federal jurisdiction. Who is supposed to enforce it? What if you refuse to pay? If anything, a body which wants to tell you what color you can paint your house, what kind of grass and plants your are required to grow, and not only what kind of car you are allowed to own, but where you are allowed to park it on your own property—if anything, they should be paying me for the right to decide that stuff. Not charging thousands of dollars per year to every resident member.

A pink garden hose is cause for pitchforks and torches.

Sounds like every hoa I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
