Fortunately Pig and Rat are in a cartoon so they don’t have to worry about a mortgage payment or rent.

How do they afford a house?

I thought Rat worked at a coffee place.

Cartoon economics. They have no jobs but they have money for pizza.

while the banks seem reluctant to fund our income to us. Greedy bustards.

They are too heavy for light work, and too light for heavy work!

Like the famous comic with the TGIF sign on the blonde’s wall, referring to shoes, “Toes go in first”! (Don’t hate me blondes, my daughter is one)!

The three panels are very symbolic.

Most of us spend a third of our lives in a place we don’t want to be, doing what we don’t want to do, with people we don’t want to be with.

Then again, l could be over thinking it…

Its called retirement.

I am retired after many long hard years, so every day is Saturday for me. Wish I could have retired when I was younger and had more energy.

All of these characters are Pastis’ adult children.

And he wishes they would move out!

Friday comes every seven days Pig, no mystical deity to thank for that.

Rat, quit raining on Pig’s parade. Weekend mode: ON.

Nowadays, I’m just glad I got any day ahead of me at all.

I’m retired, so yeah….that’s me.

Retirement never ceases to amaze me. The idea of getting paid to do nothing. Of course, what else could I do? Mainly—not get paid.

They have jobs when the strip calls for it. Otherwise they’re unemployed.

Bummer, as usual.

I work a two week on, two week off schedule, so days have no real meaning to me anymore. When I’m at work, it doesn’t matter if it’s Tuesday, Sunday, or a holiday, if there’s work to do it gets done. Conversely, when I’m on my time off, every day is a weekend. I get to do whatever I want to do.

Whose wall is that?

Isn’t being in the comic strip 7 days a week a job?

At the office, when someone says TGIF! (Thank God It’s Friday) I say Yes! Every day should be Friday! Amazing how many people agree… ;-)

I liked working weekends and having days off in the middle of the week.

We don’t know how many days we have ahead of us, only how many we have behind us (24,433 in my case).

Or medications, federal grants, FAA, Headstart, etc. etc.

They’ve had lots of interesting and challenging jobs. But usually not for long.

“Drat, it is 4 pm and we’ve got nothing done.”“JW, we are unemployed. Getting nothing done is our job.”

The problem with Fridays is that Monday is only three days away.

As long as there’s some real dude making money off doodling you two and your friends. Especially as those doodles include your home, your TV, your fridge, and your pub..

Living inside Pastis’ head rent-free. Neither side is entirely happy with the arrangement but they cannot afford any alternative.

Pig HAS a job……. and he refuses to do it.

……… and I can’t even FIRE him because then I’ll NEVER get my bacon!!!

I can’t get him to DO his job, and I can’t FIRE HIM!!!

Gotta show up for the cartoon every day, though. Unless it’s a croc and zebra cartoon.
