Stealing Captain Picards body?

Good morning™,everyone!

They got chased away while trying to steal the corpse of “John Doe,” so one crime is averted, but it makes you wonder if he was murdered. Star Trek references in “Shatner” who played Captain Kirk on the original Star Trek TV series and “Dr. McCoy” who was a key member of the crew.

Jim! After scanning the body bag I have come to the conclusion that there is no life in there. We should launch the bag into space so that we can have a sequel to this comic.

No resolution for the dozens of gaping plot holes and bits of illogical in the last story line… And, frankly, I’m glad. Too many things that made no sense created a confusing mess and I’m glad to drop it in one of the pits dug by Gent and be done with it.

I was excited to see a new story! The potential is great! Then I saw Eric is writing again.

Um… The tape on the door… You put tape over the latch to keep the door from locking. Pretty simple really… Two problems: First, you have to have the door open to put the tape over the latch. If the door is already open why put tape over the latch – you’re already in? Second, if the door is unlocked during the day and only locked at night (because no one dies during the night) and you put it on during business hours, the tape is obvious enough that anyone who should have locked the door would have noticed it and wondered, “Hey, who taped the door like this?” Why not get a bullhorn and announce, “Suspicious activity going on here!”

If the door is usually kept locked – to insure none of the corpses gets up and tries to wander off – then sometime when you, the miscreant, sees the door open for some stiff being brought in or taken out to a mortuary, you fill the hole in the door frame behind the strike plate with some material that keeps the lock from engaging.

Of course, that is pretty much impossible for the artist to draw in a way visible to us. So, rather than just leaving it up in the air how they got in (do any of us care, really?) we are shown something that makes no sense.

Ah, the old doe-si-do.

Sadly there’s no “Another Take” reference this Sunday. I know you’re all as disappointed as I am.

1- FRANK WILLS: You’re not gonna believe this but I think I’ve uncovered another break-in. What? No – I’m not at the Watergate…

3- : …HEY! We only take deliveries during 8 to 5!!!

5- : … hmmmm. Democratic Party. Odd name… Age: 197 – Wow! Had a good run. Cause Of Death: Self Inclicted Wounds. Well that’s a shame. Oh well. He’ll keep till morning. He’s not doing anything anyway. HAR HAR!

Umm… another thought. Some buildings have regular business hours and are locked up firmly at other times (with the exception of cleaning staffs and re-stockers). Other buildings are open 24-7. Hospitals, police stations, and 24-Hour Drug stores among the buildings where work is going on continuously.

Is a coroner’s office and city morgue a place which can keep regular hours? Now, I’ll grant that there may be a skeleton shift for the early morning hours, but the lights out and everyone gone save one lone watchman? Now this is only supposition on my part. I’ve never worked at a morgue. Has anyone here worked at one? Are murders and accidents restricted to normal business hours in Tracyville? What if I really, really want to kill someone right now? Will I be forced to wait until the morgue opens at 9:00? Is it closed on weekends? Federal Holidays? Do you need to apply at city hall to find the acceptable hours for committing murder?

It’s not enough to steal jewelry or money, now they are stealing corpses.What is the world coming to?
