I wonder how many other species in the universe have caused themselves to disappear by traveling the same path the Earth’s humans are on. We seem to be willfully sowing the seeds of our own destruction.
Hmmm. Looks remarkably similar to “Robot” from Invincible. An homage or coincidence? Since the author enjoys referencing other popular sci-fi characters, I believe it’s the former.
All of our “creation” is a simulation. We are being tested by our creators to see how stupid we can get before they pull the plug. Getting scarily close.
Every time I see AI, all I can think about are 2 movies; The Forbin Project and the Terminator series. Hopefully we won’t be the inferior hunted life forms.
I’m starting to connect the dots: Apps are trying desperately to push AI as a solution to a question no one asked. Companies are spending billions of dollars on the tech, and burning through massive amounts of electricity to process AI calculations. Why would companies invest so heavily in tech that offers such a poor return on investment?
Look at the separation of wealth in the US today. 1% of the population control over 90% of the wealth in this country. You don’t get that wealthy by paying healthy living wages to your employees. So we have the gig economy, wherein people work without contract or benefits for companies like UBER. And employers like Home Depot that intentionally keep their workers below full-time hours to avoid paying benefits. Plus, we have mega corporations from Walmart, Amazon, to Facebook, and Google. Most of these jobs don’t pay proportionately well, while the top levels make obscene amounts of money off their employee’s work.
But what if you didn’t have to have employees? What if AI and humanoid robots could do it all for you? Almost zero overhead, and all profit. Unfortunately, the market won’t do too well when the 99% become so poor that they can’t afford to buy any of their products anymore. So why are we in a recession again?

But an artificially intelligent replication of Brewster would be a paradox.

AI will end up in a war against itself. Then it will truly have replaced humans.

You can bet the most useless of all, corporate executives, will be the last to have their jobs taken over by AI.
