I think our overgrown bully has gone completely “blood simple”. What’s his next boneheaded move: dropping the gun to steady himself with two hands, not realizing that he just threw away his final shred of leverage?
Does being hoisted on an I-beam to the top of a high building and pointing a gun at a crowd while being lifted in the air seem like a poor way to go into hiding? He’s made a lot of poor choices, this one is almost as foolproof as trying to shake down Dick Tracy’s wife.
This story has me completely confused. Why was Quiver introduced? And the charity scam? Does Edison have any actual role – was she the one who said she was going to get lost in the construction site? What, exactly, is Shaky doing? WHY does he want to get to the top of the building?
A. He’s SHAKY! Not the best combination for balancing on a moving beam.B. What’s to stop them from leaving him hanging in midair? He can’t hit them from there. See “A.”C. What’s his plan? Living at the top of an under-construction high rise?
Riffin In The Sky (Still desperately hanging on to the Theater/Play conceit)
1-DUDE: Hey. Are we doing a chickens*** version of Peter Pan now? That’s not how Mary Martin done it.
2-JAY BOGART: Whoa baby! This theater has a high ceiling! OK YOU GUYS! DON’T TELL TRACY WHERE I AM. DEAL? OTHERWISE I USE MY UNERRING AIM TO FILL YOU LITTLE ANTS WITH LEAD D-CON!
DUDE: He’s up there Tracy. JAY: HEY! WE HAD A…UH OH…
It looks like Shakey’s gonna go out like the Brow … plunging to his doom. The Brow ended up impaling himself on a flag pole (a strip that many newspapers at the time censored), is history about to totally repeat itself? Thats a pretty big flag at the site.
To (mis?)quote, Cleavon Little from Blazing Saddles…“Where’s the white women”? Quiver and Eddie?. Relative to that flag…this story is so illogical, the flag should be flying upside down. BTW, the Brow’s tale made sense
You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you just might find you get what you need. So it goes, Shaky. Don’t fall off that beam and mess up that nice tuxedo. Oh, no!
New self-disposing villains. All they leave behind the the fresh scent of pine. Almost through with the archives. Soon I can show off my blazing wit in real-time. Also, if you’re reading this in the future, I might be dead from cancer. Fun!

Does Shaky take a high dive to his doom?
Or will be captured to spend a long stretch in THE BIG HOUSE?

Good morning™, friends!
This is one situation where constantly shaking is definitely not a good thing. I agree that he seems a little scared of heights.

I can’t wait to see Edison show up with a helicopter and whisk him away. And the tree.

Would they really have a spare girder lying around a finished building just to take a Christmas tree to the top? Not to mention the cost of a crane.

I don’t even get why he wants to go up. Maybe to be better seen and more easily captured, I guess.

Well, this sort of attention-getting play will certainly make easier for Edison and Quiver to slip away unnoticed.
