This is in Ontario? Dad did that once about 03:00 a.m. in what seemed to be the middle of nowhere, got stopped reasonably close but past the exit. Back up the 100 ft or so to the exit and got about 1/2 half way down the exit and discovered that the RMCP’s posses teleportation magic. Got scolded and told next time just drive the 100 kilometers or so to the next exit.
I had someone pull the late lane change on me and touch the brakes, luckily I have rally driving experience and went where the car came from automatically. Luckily no mess, although I think the driver where I went might have had to change underwear later.
Had a woman in a van with her kid behind me tailgating. I wasn’t doing 100MPH on the exit and I could see she was mad!!! Then she realized she was in an exit!! LOL!! She swerved back into traffic, OMG! How do these people get licenses? There is another exit I love. It is a LEFT EXIT!! I’ll be tooling along at 40MPH and cars will be behind me tailgating because I am in the left lane and again, not doing 100!! Then they realize it is an exit!! I love seeing them trying to get into the real left lane. Of course there are signs, but no one reads those things!!
It’s hard to draw something like a freeway in a comic strip. There just isn’t enough room. When this cartoon was done, the papers were shrinking the size that comics were printed so these images had to be drawn on an angle in order to make them work.
My niece’s son was direction-challenged. He got onto I-88 in the far western suburbs of Chicago one night thinking he was going eastbound into the city…
Hours later he called lost in from somewhere west of Sterling, Il. When asked if he saw any signs… “Last one I saw said East Moline, 30 miles…”
You’d think anyone else would’ve turned around somewhere before DeKalb…
I’ve seen plenty of videos where the driver will hit the brake and make a sharp turn across all the lanes of traffic. Congratulations, Mike, on not becoming a YouTube video.

The worst drivers seem to be the most careful drivers, but it doesn’t help.

This is a demonstration of why there is a hesitation to let him drive the sports car.

Remember a LOONEY TUNES cartoon where a guy spends the whole cartoon trying to exit off a cloverleaf highway?
Finally, the owner of a hamburger stand says there IS no way off it,and he opened his place so people wouldn’t starve to death in the meantime.

Sure there was one where that happened where John and Elly were planning a romantic night by themselves, but were sidetracked:
Elly: John, you just missed the ramp!
John: No problem, we will get off at the next exit.

The first lesson of missing your exit on the freeway is this: Don’t panic; you can always get off at the next exit and come back for another go.
(Well, nearly always…. I know a few exits that are only accessible from one side of the freeway. Those are evil.)
