Spoken by someone who did not run out during Covid. Said the guy with a month’s supply in the closet.

You buy toilet paper by the bale? Oh, man, I’ve heard of bad cases of diarrhea, but this one sounds like Olympic gold-medal material.

Then you take your economy car into economy class on the airplane and… This kid’s still not very bright.

Does he think an economy size is a life time supply or something? How often does he think people are buying these vs. smaller sizes?

There’s fine line between how much toilet paper you use and being environmentally friendly…

No one thinks that you could use a normal amount of toilet paper and choose to buy in bulk because of price and needing to make fewer trips to the store? It’s not like toilet paper goes bad if you keep it too long.

Well, there are portmanteau words, why not a portmanteau question? And, yes, “economy” does work in different ways for different things, and people have strikingly different habits when it comes to toilet paper usage, from “What have you got against trees?” to “Ewwwwwww!”

Could be they will contribute it to the storm struck areas. For now the basics are food, water, tp, paper towels, and soap. Within a few days in the mid-Atlantic states, warm clothing and shelter definitely will be at the top of the list. Prayers for all.

I buy economy sized toilet paper because it does not go bad and ends up cheaper that way. I also was able to give a couple people a six pack of TP during the Covid scramble because I still had plenty.

Whether you’re doing it wrong is a more important question than how much paper you need.

I live by myself and I buy TP by the case. Just toss it into storage and grab a few to put under the bathroom sink every so often. Only have to buy it every couple of years…

Some economy items reflect “Less is more” while others reflect “More is less.” (But always check. I have occasionally spotted bulk items that, when you did the math, actually cost more than buying several smaller sized items.)

Stock up for the winter, when you really don’t feel like a chilly trek to restock. (You’ll even wish you still had daily newspapers delivered.)

Well, in the years before Covid hit I accidentally bought too many of the multipacks of toilet paper and paper towels. Forgetting how much I had when confronted with a really good sale. Good thing I did, I never had any worries of running out of toilet paper or paper towels for nearly two years. :D

I had two 20-packs of Scott 1000-sheet rolls in my garage (good sales price plus coupons) in late 2019. By spring 2020, I was really glad. While people were panicking, grocery store shelves were empty, and some doofus on eBay was offering single sheets for 10 cents each, I knew I’d be able to wipe my butt for years to come.

Ask people who had just gone to Costco before the Wuhan fear caused empty shelves whether they bought too much.

An economy package of TP is large to give you a lower cost per roll. An economy car is small so it costs less to buy and operate.
