Like so many others in the entertainment field, she’ll ride the wave for a time, maybe longer than some others in the past, then fade into the ‘golden oldies’ playback lists. In a few years, there’ll be occasional mentions in the press of the once famous diva, and brief revivals of her music, but someone else will be the star of the new generation. In short, history will repeat itself – again.
Taylor is a beautiful woman, and any time she wants to strut her stuff in some fancy French skivvies she’s more than welcome to. Restraining order be dam ned.
My theory is Mother Nature is always more interested in future generations. The present one matters only for surviving long enough to produce the next. So, when times are plush and living is easy, that good life toxically kills off adults post reproductive age, making way for their progeny. When time are hard, however, Momma Nature lets us live longer, giving us more time to reproduce.
I’ve learned recently this is called the “arrival fallacy”, where you strive to reach some goal that you think will make you happy and yet reaching it makes you miserable.
I wonder what Bob sees in her. I see a pop singer who might actually be able to sing if she tried a different genre but doesn’t do much for me in the genre her fans love.
I remember the old folks saying rock and roll was bad because you couldn’t tell who was dancing with who, and you couldn’t make out the lyrics to the songs. Then Elvis was just a fad, good looking guy with dirty hip movements, and those mop-heads from England who wore their hair like girls would never measure up to Crosby or Sinatra or Bennett or Perry Como. Four Seasons, Beach Boys, Chicago, Carol King, Neil Diamond, The Eagles. Today Taylor Swift. One told me that all the rock music was just bits and pieces of classical music made faster. Each generation think the next music was ‘the day the music died’ . It seems to me that old folks should not be consulted for an opinion on popular music.
So, I’m assuming, here, that if you have attained all your goals, and your life isn’t worth living any more, that there’s nothing left but suicide? Perhaps I shouldn’t assume, because in my experience, the older you get, the more you want to hold onto life, not give it away. That said, I’d be interested to know what the mention of Taylor Swift on Bob’s ‘to do’ list entails …

I don’t need a bucket list. If I die when all of my chores are finished, I’m gonna live forever.

And her boyfriend is officially 6-5, 250. His job requires hitting other guys that big and bigger twenty times a year.

With Bob’s attitudes toward women, the top of his bucket list should be kicking field goals for the Kansas City Chiefs.

My wife told me that I can’t have a bucket list until I finish my todo list. Guess what I’ll never have.

Is anybody else getting emails asking Taylor Swift to “annoint” a presidential candidate? Truly bizarre. . .

Bad timing with the planned terrorist attack on the swift concert that got stopped.
