I annoyed a substitute teacher once, she called my to the board to solve a multiplication problem and I just wrote the answer under the problem. A useful talent, long before calculators. I bit back, “Oh, you want me to show how you would solve it?”

Danae, you are the problem. You might get elected by avoiding reality, but it always catches up with you.

Even today, smarting off to a teacher is NEVER a good idea.

The tide is rising – slowly, to be sure, but rising. If the courts show any fortitude and an understanding that their decisions should be based on the US Constitution and not their personal political biases, then maybe, just maybe the spring will bring a brighter outlook. Unfortunately, Buttercup and Fluffy can do a lot of damage by then and the paperwork required to correct as least some of it might overpower the system. On the other hand, the legal beagles will be very happy.

When I was in school, if you got in trouble with the nuns and other teachers, you were in trouble at home for sure. When I taught, I saw a shift where more students who got in trouble had parents backing their offspring’s version of events and accusing teachers. But of course we couldn’t comment that they were probably already familiar with the kid lying!

How good are comic teachers that they all seem to rely on the comic school administrators to deal with comic kids.

I don’t think there’s any answer to her problem… lol!

To be fair, the teacher asked to solve “this” problem, not “Danae’s” problem.

I suppose someone has, but has anyone asked a “real”, “realistic” question where the answer would be 42 other than a simple math problem?

Why is she sent to the Vice Principal’s office? Surely she would benefit by being taken aside and quietly shown where she has gone wrong, not punished. Apparently no one has thought to do that.
