No one gets news from anywhere, do they?

By that I mean, don’t we “get” information? From whatever source, as informed citizens of whatever type of government we have in the United States or in many other countries, we have a responsibility to make at least some effort to be informed.

Informed of truth, and facts, and even opinions.

The key, as in so much of life, is knowing how to read, and discriminate, and sift through facts, and biases, and opinions.

A news organization can help. Every one of them have biases, good and bad reporters, editors, writers, etc. To make the quest for learning more truth and facts and information and details about reality, one should seek out news organizations who deliver facts often and accurately. Almost all news groups strive most times to get the facts correct – the degree to which they succeed is constantly in flux, but trends do emerge.

It’s up to the consumer, the citizen, to take in those facts and balance them against their own bias, in addition to the biases of the source, and then reach logical, responsible, conclusions.

    It ain’t easy.

As usual, just my opinion. I welcome anyone to point out where I mis-wrote.

Or anyone who wants a bit of discussion.

    However… my followup question is:

Seriously, whatever your opinion of the news today, or in the past, or in the future…

If you don’t learn from news sources, where do you learn about reality? Especially the reality of government and politicians?

Where do you learn about medicine, drugs, car-buying, science, history?

Not a comment expressing an opinion one way or another (I’ll leave that for others LOL). Saw this on TV a few days ago, a “man on the street” interview. Man was asked what he understood Critical Race Theory to be – his answer was something to the effect of, “I really don’t know what it is, but I know I don’t like it.”

Or as Bill Maher says, “I don’t know it for a fact … I just know it’s true.”

Beware of misinformed people and news organizations that spread misinformation

… and those who “ignore” or suppress “inconvenient” true information.

One of the most egregious (and probably still unknown to many because of suppression and misinformation put out) involved Hunter Biden’s (and Joe’s) Chinese connections and dealings which were revealed on Hunter’s own laptops and verified by Tony Bobulinski.

There’s much to much red tape in this government to get one thing done and passed! It’s ridiculous to have to sit there hour after hour while some of these incompetent politicians spew their hate…. they should be limited to a brief statement…..it’s not enough they cause trouble within their own parties to stall and hold up proceedings on a timely basis…..

Too much bull slinging and not enough action

Yes, uninformed people have been providing us their opinions. They all work for the media propaganda machine trying to destroy America. Here are some recent examples.

False claims all:Jacob Blake was killed by police in Kenosha (false)

Jacob Blake was an innocent, unarmed black man targeted by police (False, he was reaching for a knife and threatening to kidnap kids while evading police and acting aggressively).

Kyle Rittenhouse shot and killed black men who were peacefully protesting the “unjust” shooting of Jacob Blake and thus is a white supremacist (False, he was attacked by two white felons, a pedophile and a rapist and defended himself).

Jacob Blake drove across state lines with a gun (False – he had the Gun in Kenosha).

The leftist propaganda machine seeks to divide America and spread lies to cause more people to hate each other. Well, THAT one is totally true.

I like sources that have survived a century or more. The NYTimes is imperfect, but I am,too. The Atlantic, The New Yorker, Harper’s, all survivors – because they are committed to the truth. I read Wall St. Journal and National Review to see what the small, semi-sane remnant of the enemy is telling itself.
