IIRC there was a Mad Magazine cartoon about a guy in NYC who got a parking space in front of his brownstone and never moved the car again.

When I was a little panda, I’d accompany my Aunt Lena to the store, she’d circle the lot looking for a good spot. Around and around we’d go. Sometimes, it seemed it’d been quicker to walk uptown, instead of driving.
