After my cataract surgery, seeing the lines to color between is impossible unless I wear reading glasses.

Bad bifocals. That could explain some so-called “good” art.

I am impressed that Grandpa can get down on the floor. Would love to see him when he tries to get up.

Coloring outside the lines was Sedgie’s thing in last week’s Monty.

Those are BIFOCALS..? -- They look more like BLINDFOCALS.!!!!

Bifocal glasses can be very dangerous, especially going down stairs. Trust me on this one.

Earl is right. The most significant painting – and inventions – developed from thinking outside the rules [lines] and ignoring some traditions. The greatest challenge to the inventive mind is ‘it can’t be done.’

It’s one of the things I flunked in kindergarten, coloring outside the lines. I really got a (what I thought was) talking down to for just this!

My artist mom never realized she had astigmatism until she got her first pair of glasses at age 50. She said it took her months to get over drawing parallelograms & be able to draw rectangles again!

Earls got an answer for everything. POOR Nelson!

I suppose I could get down like Earl, even stay that way for a bit. But getting up would not be graceful – more like laughable. A footstool nearby might help.

Is Earl equating art with bad bifocals?

The trick is that the great artists did first learn to color inside the box to learn discipline before exploring wider possibilities.
