Fractions have long been a painful subject for Earl. And at his age he especially avoids them, since they don’t heal as quickly as they used to. :/

I always get the numberater mixed up with the dumberater.

He is right! He is not good with fractions.

Well Earl’s not the only one whose a bit over average in belly-size. Maybe that’s how they get to 125% of all the folks with fractional fractionability.

I remember my math teacher showing me how to do fractions using the pancake analogy.

There are three kinds of people when it comes to math and 3/4 of them can’t do fractions 110% of the time.

I can sometimes figure out simple fraction problems.

Oh come on. Fractions are nothing but DIVISION. If you can divide, you can do fractions. It is simple math.

Fractions are easy. For example, I always have my pizzas cut into six pieces and not eight. That way, when I eat the whole pizza, I’ve only eaten 3/4th.

I was a mechanic. A college kid working for the summer sweeping and taking out garbage asked if he could borrow a wrench “the next size smaller than 9/16.” I told him he had to tell me the size, and he better not say “8/16.” He furrowed his brow and said “9/15?” Did I mention this kid was going to college? I didn’t loan him the wrench.
