This comic isn’t the only one not updating since the last day of 2023, and it isn’t the first time this strip has been “stalled”. Probably due to someone not renewing the contact on time. If GoComics was planning to drop this strip, past observances are they would be pretty quick to delete it totally. I’m confident it will be back.

What’s with these re runs? 50,000 comics, and they can’t give us a different one every day?

Are they going to change this or not – it’s been the same for a week now?

The comic should be back soon. If they were stopping it, the old ones would probably be gone already (like with Garfield Classics).

The Amazing Spider-Man on Comics Kingdom did this. It stayed on the same day for a month or so and then it just vanished. Something about contracts ending.

A new Sunday and it’s last week’s Classic. Maybe we will have to put up with this all this week as well as all last week.

GoComics appears to getting rid of all the classic comics. First ‘Stone Soup Classics’, then ‘Garfield Classics’, and ‘Big Nate: First Class’.

I wonder if ‘Wizard of ID Classics’ and ‘Back to B.C.’ are the next to disappear. What about ‘Nancy Classics’? ‘Peanuts Begins’?

I realize the art team ended the strip, but sadly the strip, ‘Real Life Adventures’ has completely disappeared.

I was hoping this comic would change after Sunday – what is the problem?

Is this the end of the classics?

Still no more strips! My guess is that the story arc might be too un-woke for 2024. It’s happened before where the strip went away for a while then came back. But we’ll see…

It’s on hold while they select some of the best strips in preparation for writing the script for Zardid, the remake of Sean Connery’s movie, Zardoz.

Back to B.C. is back—hope this one will be updated soon

Is it just me, imagining it, or, do all the “Classics” seem to be ending, and disappearing?

One month into the new year and still the same strip, what gives?

I’m getting withdrawal symptoms from not being able to read the Classics of the Wizard of Id … it has been over a month since they were available. When will they return?

If you are not going to update it, delete it!

This strip is getting old….very old.

According to customer support the creator has not responded to requests to update.

The Wiz needs to unstick time.

I contacted the GoComics staff (link at the bottom of this page). I wrote “I would like to point out that Wizard of Id Classics has not been updated since December 31st. I have noticed that it often happens that the strips by Johnny Hart – Wizard of Id and BC – don’t update from the first of the month, but it has never been this long before.”, and got this reply:

“Sorry to have caused you some inconvenience. Your classics feature may have gone, but all the rich, wonderful, classic, archived content you love is still available on the primary feature page (Ex. “Stone Soup Classics” have been combined back into “Stone Soup”), meaning that we have combined the oldest and newest archives for the same feature."

We’re sick of this replace this or delete the whole dang strip!
