Santa on the roof of the Big Pink House! Tommy and Sophie curled up in bed with their woman. The boys in their winter jammies. Buzzy safely at Puck’s side. Lupin toe beans. Christmas perfection. Thank you Georgia.
None of my four cats is much of a lap-sitter, so I treasure the moments when one of them decides to sit or lay upon me, pinning me down for my own good.♥
Love this strip! The last panel is wonderful. And, is there a cat in Santa’s sleigh? It looks like whatever is in front of the giant bag has two pointy ears. Maybe it’s an elf?
Lately, I’ve been hit with the urge to lie down not long after noon. I did so yesterday and slept for three hours. During that time, I had a long dream in which I was looking for a new cat. Woke up having to reassure my two boys that they’re enough cats for me for now.
Yup. the girls arrived back from university and all of a sudden all the dogs and cats have left our bedroom and are with them. It was strange last night. But very nice this morning.
Burt decided to come in from the barn and sneak into Tommy’s house? I know that People aren’t all that bright, but I suspect that Tommy’s (and Sophie’s) Woman would notice that that’s not Sophie. Of course, I can’t imagine that she or even Sophie would mind having Burt over. (I can’t imagine that anyone would mind having Burt over). Maybe it’s an occasional thing.
SOPHIE’S PAJAMAS!!! Ultra cuteness! I just love Sophie. And I want that last panel for a set of Christmas Greeting cards, it’s fantastic. Continuing to keep a daily vigil for SkyKey. Hope you’re OK buddy! (((((((((huge engulfing bear hugs, orb bumps, boops and purrs going your way)))))))))) And thank you Georgia ever so much for your reply yesterday. I miss SkyKey’s stories something fierce. Xx
Since Puck is a cat of science (even though he doesn’t have his lab coat on now) I know the physics of that fourth panel are true. I can live forever if I’m always anchored by cats.
Indeed. People seem to have accepted too many responsibilities, as they run from one obligation to the next. When they finally rest, they find themselves exhausted.
Beautifully done, Georgia! Merry Christmas to you all from Terri and me, our fur babies Lucky and Missy, and our spirit fur babies Tiger (my orb pic) and Sundae!
Good morning and happy 2 days to go before Christmas! I hope all of you have done the required running around, and can rest safely at home for the next two days.
Well, I finally got Paul hauled off for his haircut, and he looks very handsome – very handsome indeed. He’d better, at the price of haircuts at the salon we patronize.
I try to avoid my recliner during the afternoon because Tucker Lovesponge immediately comes to snuggle and his purring is like a natural sedative. Find myself reaching for the nap blanket, which brings Ozzy to my lap with even more purring. By the time I wake up, his brother Inky is usually behind my head or plastered to my side. Pure Heaven! I wish all of you a happy Christmas Eve Eve and your own “cat blanket”! And Skykey, hope you are safe and well—we all miss you and are worried about you and hope to hear from you soon.
To Georgia, and family who provide you with such wonderful ideas; and to all of your followers who have formed a family, and shared their cat-insights, sweet stories and not so sweet: to all thank you for a sane and friendly oasis in this out of control year. I have learned so much from each of you, feel as though you are a friend – we just have not met in person as yet.Thank you for starting each day on a happy, sweet, aaaah note that carries me through the rest of the day.
The house is slowing moving towards equilibrium. Which means the waves are no longer tidal. Just normal multi-cat mayhem.
Trixie got her stitches out and appears to be past the pain stage. The screen door is permanently open and she is taking some furtive trips out and about. Friday we found Spudley all aghast in the kitchen. Trixie has discovered the towel under the rolling carts where Spud likes to hang out and snooze. No conflict, just an occasional preemption. We have put a second towel under the adjoining cart and will monitor the situation.
There has been little or no conflict between Trixie and any of the others. As far as we can tell everyone is giving her space. She is still very twitchy with us and hisses at first. But, I can pick her up without her struggling or biting. Usually so I can plop her down in a convenient spot for brushing and petting.
It looks like it is going to be a long haul with this girl. I expect at least a year or 2 for Trixie to settle in and stop being afraid and uncomfortable with giant humans. And we are going to have a set-back in the near future. She has begun some halfhearted bathing but is still very scruffy. In the not so distant future there will be..Dun..Da…Dun…a bath. Pray for us. And send plasma.
Bandit is doing very nicely. She submitted an application and has been accepted as a probationary employee of Stampede Partners, LLC. I expect she will be fast tracked for a partnership.
Once the door was opened, she hung out in the bathroom for a day or so. The next we knew there were furtive trips out late at night when the house was quiet.
Then she pretty much vanished for about 2 days. We would catch fleeting glimpses, except at meal times when she was amazingly present and whining.
What? What do you mean? I’ve been here the whole time and open that can NOW you slacker.
Lately Bandit has been pretty much out in the open romping with all 4 boys and confounding the older girls. Darn kids. She chases, they chase, the stampede continues. She has discovered the tall cat tree. I don’t think she has yet realized that it is also a gateway to a whole different upstairs to be explored. Once she finds that we probably won’t see her for a couple days.
She is skittish when outside the bathroom but absolutely a suck up mush in the bathroom. When all is said and done the bathroom is still sanctuary for Bandit and Trixie.
Ah yes my sedatives are named Miscreant, Meav, KK and Ichy. When I get pinned down in the recliner the purring sounds and vibrations knock me right out as long as Jasper the Dane doesn’t try to join too. Nothing better than a cat induced mini coma.
For those of you who were asking about Jasper. He does have 2 shattered bones in his leg. Fortunately he is able to walk on the leg still and won’t need surgery. He has to spend at least 3 more months on a leash to go potty only outside, no running, jumping or playing. Try explaining to a now 160lb 2 1/2 yo that he cannot play at all except when I tell him and how I tell him. He at least loves the attention and belly rubs. My Weimaraner is not so happy though. He is used to being outside most of the day. He’ll get over it he likes the belly rubs too.
Georgia, I do believe (at least, I certainly HOPE) that, with what I have to believe is a VERY full schedule you are a woman who knows how to stop and smell the roses, and that from this springs all your magic.
So today, I came home from making a party for my Sunday school kids and collapsed in bed from the effort. I woke up with one cat lying flat as a pancake on my chest, nose to nose with me, and the other draped over my feet. My toes were extremely toasty. THEY NEVER DO THIS. The rule is usually that one is at my left knee and the other is at my right shoulder. They sleep next to me, not on me, with me as the DMZ between them.
So they are definitely watching BCN when I’m not around. What else can I conclude???
Much like ‘The Boys’ here, I had the honor to have cared for a rabbit (the inspiration for my avatar). She was so sweet, lived to be ELEVEN years old (and change)! And she reminded me that no matter how bad the day was, it would, somehow, be OK. Rest well, sweetie, and to all – Happy New Year!! ;)
