Now, why would the Man assume that Lupin (Lupin-ette) is the primary cause here? Just because he has a history? And because he’s secretly a tiny horse?
This must be the grand finale of the remarkable adventure as our brave crew sails off on the good ship picnic table. Love Lupin still balanced on the table leg as if it were a mast. Time for a power nap now boys.
As we celebrate another Caturday, let’s send out another salvo of healing purrs, boops, hugs, and barks to all our animal and human friends who need them, especially Nushi, Jasper and Ester. And {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{All Orbs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}!
Thank you for this amazing interpretation of Hamilton! Sad to see it ending with the end of Act I. Or does that mean that we will, at some future date, get Act II?
Jasper is alive and (getting) well! He ate all the special food and is now walking around sniffing everything, scratching on his scratch pad (!!) and trying to go outside (no way). (He’s not going to be too happy when I pill him later) THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!! PURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I love this finale! I’m not familiar with Hamilton, but I now have the urge to guy the soundtrack. Thank you, Georgia, for this fun interpretation. (((((((((((((((((((Mega-Orb))))))))))))))))))
Hi Orbsters, I’ll be off to Nashville tomorrow, where my partner will be undergoing some tests at Vanderbilt Medical Center. I will be checking in here from time to time but might not have time to comment. Just know that I will be thinking of all of you and all of your pets and sending out purrs, prayers and boops to all who need them!
OT Jasper: Aspen-Bell’s Jasper has been very ill, and she had to use her next months rent to pay the bills. (See her previous day’s post to learn just how sick he was.) Please help her out for saving Jasper—after all, he lives there too!
Love “General” Elvis. Of course, the humans and mice have to do all the work rowing, can’t have a cat doing manual labor!!
Sis (Shaunnmunn) sends everyone lots of love. She has been under a lot of stress lately but hopes to start back on BCN soon. Thanks for all your concern for her. Blessings to everyone. ♥
I know cats aren’t known for sharing, but couldn’t someone please open the window so Tommy can have a bite. Or maybe he sneaked in when the Man came in?
I went to a funeral yesterday, for a woman at mom’s church who died the same day as K (Monday). K’s funeral was Thursday back home & I missed it. I wasn’t sure I wanted to go to mom’s friend’s, but I’m glad I did – for me it was kind of a twofer, because I was thinking of K & my other family-by-choice back home, & the same words applied to them as to the folks here.
Great news RE M! She’s getting out of the hospital & going to rehab some time in the next few days, as soon as they can find a place for her. She didn’t want to go to “a place full of old people” but her mom & her roommate talked some sense into her & told her the same thing I told PJ last year: “You’re not coming home until you can get to the bathroom & wipe your own behind!” I don’t think she realizes yet just how much she’s lost after nearly a month in the hospital & almost dying.
Aaaaand…last but not least: Today is my mom’s birthday! She’s 86 years young & still going a mile a minute. My sibs, my son & DIL, some of the grandkids, & a couple of the great-grands will be here later today & we’re all going out for dinner. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM, & keep on being nonstop for many years to come!
Lots & lots of love & thanks to all in the Mega-Orb, & (((((HUGGZ))))), purrrrrrrrrrz, nose taps, headbonks, snorgles, meows, yips, tail wags, chirps, & other good stuffs to all, with double doses to all who need it!
So I came downstairs this morning and found what I expected: my Babygirl had gone to the Bridge after her 3 weeks of decline. She almost made it to 17 human years, and she left behind some very fond memories, and I’ll miss the silly little trout. (when she came home from being spayed, she couldn’t quite walk yet, but in trying, she moved across the floor like a fish out of water)
It’s very likely she’s my last cat, as my Lady is seriously allergic; when her Pampered Persian Princess leaves us, we’ll be the only two mammals of the house. A reptile or two may happen; we don’t know.
Thank you, mega-orb, for being the supportive, caring folks you are. Thank you, Georgia, for your delightful art and whimsy. Laughing at the boys—and Goldie when she becomes part of the strip—eases things immeasurably. I value y’all, and ain’t goin’ nowhere.
I just heard on the news that there’s a major blackout in NYC that’s affecting some Broadway plays including Hamilton. One of my cousins lives in the Upper West Side which is also affected. I haven’t been able to get in touch with him. I hope he was home or somewhere safe and that all residents and businesses are soon back in the light!
Georgia Dunn – Breaking Cat NewsIn a strange coincidence, tonight I happen to be painting strips about a power outage at the Big Pink House! I’m watching news coverage of the New York City outage and thinking of family and friends there. To all our readers affected by this, you are in my thoughts and I hope power is restored swiftly! Here are a few sneak peeks while I paint… It’s very surreal to be working on this tonight! Life has many odd coincidences!
Just want to thank Georgia for the wonderful Hamilton parody! It was so much fun and it actually got me to listen to some of the songs and read the synopsis. Never say comics aren’t educational!
After I buried the babygirl, we followed through on our plans for the day and went to the Museum of Flight. There’s a lot there we didn’t see—will go back for most of it—but we saw what I went there for. I have never before felt such awe in the presence of anything as I did today—I doubt I’d even have felt it at the Treasures of Tutankhamen when it was here. But today I was in the presence of mankind’s history—the Apollo 11 command module which took Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins to the moon and back in 1969. That exhibit will be here until 2nd September, and for any of you in the general Seattle area, especially if you were watching the ‘small step for a man’ as I was, I cannot urge you strongly enough.
Yes, in 2020 it’ll be back at the Smithsonian, and you can see it then and there—from about 20 or 25 feet away. Here, you’re within 5 or 6 feet. When it leaves here, it goes to some other places—if it comes to your area, if you’re any semblance of a space-nut or SF person, GO SEE IT. Relive those days in 1969 when humans first set foot off the Earth. Just…Wow. Awe-inspiring.
Then we went for a good meal, took our friend home, bought my birthday cake, and now we’re back.

No Particular Tune (reprise): The Ballad of Potato Salad
There is a legend throughout the land
Of three cats and their three mouse friends.
They set their sights on a goal
Of a delectable looking bowl!
They kept their eyes
On that amazing prize
And after many tries
Their success did arise!
…….
Come along with me and sing
Of a most delicious thing!
It has bacon, mayo, and some cheese,
Even Elvis will be so pleased,
Puck knows they will win
When Lupin-ette leaps in!
…….
The Robber Mice, they get their due,
Enjoying some salad, too
Do you think it’s kinda mean,
Leaving it to the Woman to clean?
No matter, we all had fun,
Thank you so much, Georgia Dunn!
