Poor Beatrix and Elvis have a failure to communicate. It appears texting is a bit hitech for Elvis. My mom is that way too. I can try to text her but alas if I really need to talk nothing but an old fashioned phone call will do. Knowing and respecting different people’s preferred forms of communication are key to clear communication.
I use a flip-phone and I’m not afraid of “new tech”. I use it to TALK to people when I’m out of the house. I have a lap-top for internet, etc. and only “upgrade” my tech when there is a definite reason (not just so I can say, "LOOK WHAT I’VE GOT.).
Shadow Update: Andy and I are relieved to say that her vast array of tests all looked pretty good. Her Neurologist, Cardiologist and the Oncologist all agree that she will do just fine under anesthesia, and we’re relieved to hear it. In a week and a half, we’ll take her for the biopsy to determine if her tumors are angry or not. After we find out, then we’ll be able to consider our next steps for our girlie. ~Thank you so much for all of the lovely comments and support from a few days ago, everyone. You’re the BEST!
Well, Elvis, you can’t say Beatrix didn’t try to inform you. She deserves to be seen on air.
My great-granddaughter is coming over later so I can watch her while my daughter’s bathroom is being worked on. Teachers are still on rotating strikes.
Okay, so next VERY important question…does Elvis even know how to work said phone? Because Elvis strikes me as the sort of fuddy-duddy who actually wouldn’t, but pretends like he does.
I have been known to miss a text or two. I don’t really text a lot so I don’t go into the text app very often. A friend just texted me Sunday with a picture of her new grandson and I didn’t see it until Tuesday when I was going in to text her and wish her a happy birthday. I have my FitBit connected so I usually get notifications on there, but at the time the text came in I was probably too far away from my phone, and either I missed the notification on the screen the next time I looked at my phone of for some reason there wasn’t one.
Today is Radio Day … does anyone remember or know what a radio is, let alone listen to one?
Considering what appears to be the average age of this bunch, probably more than the population at large. “Radio,” for most of the youngin’s out there is something they stream on a computer or electronic device.
The following is a public service announcement.
CAUTION: Listening to radio will expose you to both high and low frequency radio waves, which are known in the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and general angst—just like everything else in California. This only applies to the State of California. Elsewhere, you may very well not have a problem. For those in the State of California, however … well, no doubt you are familiar with Robin’s prognostication.
I consider myself lucky to be of an age that I got the tail end of the radio era. I used to listen to radio soap operas when I was home sick. I still like radio, and listen to NPR a lot.
In the older cats’ defense, they were so busy freaking out about their humans’ behavior and the dangerous weather unknown that they weren’t at their best reporter behavior.
Beatrix is being held down by the glass ceiling for female on air reporters!!! Speak up, Bea! You’ll have to work twice as hard for half the kibble, but you can definitely outshine them all!
Beatrix needs a regular on air segment as fact checker and Voice of Reason. I’ve missed her. I’m sure Burt could set up a remote feed from the book store.
As I asked yesterday, why didn’t you break into the broadcast Bea? Don’t waste time texting. Burt would have been happy to change the feed to you for the explination. And Burt would have been more likely to pay attention to a text.

Love that Bea tried so hard. Hmm, what is the device? Old flip phone?

Been there done that as they say. Sometimes I wonder why bother. It’s like you have to shout in their faces and they still don’t hear or listen. Oy.

Cognitive dissonance often appears in People too. In Elvis’s case, there is also confirmation bias. Oh, and sexism!

Beatrix even used the right characters to show snow.
Weather reports talk about periods of rain, so shouldn’t there be asterisks of snow?

I had another one of those Vertigo/Nausea attacks today.
This time i went to the ER.
They did an EKG, blood tests, and a CT of my head and neck.
Nothing. No one can figure out what is wrong with me.
