I bet Mags will want something from Baba, the raccoons never do anything for free. But we all remember Baba’s midnight errand with Agnes back in late June!
Oh, goody, Baba Mouse to the rescue! Looks like this story is going to have it all…Old Mag and her minions and Baba and who knows what other characters will take part!
No, Baba Mouse. That isn’t a nightmare. That’s real. The Evil Queen and one of her henchcoons are going to perpetrate some unspeakable atrocity on poor Beatrix. Act quickly, or Beatrix will be doomed.
To me, it looks like Mags is there at Baba’s hen house to tell her the news about the kitten. I do wonder what she will want from Baba Mouse in exchange.
Baba Mouse to the rescue. Yesterday I thought the raccoons were going to go and steal Beatrix’ phone as the birds saw it on the ground and/or perhaps rescue our kitten from the tree but hold her for ransom thus requiring a rescue attempt from the 3 Dads and company……. Now I guess it will be Baba supervising the rescue and I am curious who is going to get involved, the robber mice and all the cats????
Remember Baba Mouse’s recent midnight errand to return the lost thimbles. Perhaps in an expression of returning the kindness, Queen Mag is returning the favor and informing Baba Mouse of Beatrix’s predicament.
Queen Mag, doubtless a character of intrigue. Is she good? Is she bad? Is she an anti-hero? Is she….the possibilities are fun to ponder.
I loved the rhyming couplets yesterday. Today, Mag’s paws interlaced as she ponders the newest information brought by her spies, and deciding the utility of the nights intelligence. Truly, she is a character of depth in the finest Shakespearean tradition.
I for one, am glad Georgia has brought Queen Mag back.
Dang! Do you realize tomorrow is Saturday? Since Sunday is always unrelated, either this gets resolved tomorrow or it gets much worse and then we have to wait ’til Monday!
National Wildlife Day —No, not that kind of wildlife! Do something for an endangered species, if you can. It’s good karma.
National Newspaper Carrier Day —Speaking of endangered species …
National Food Bank Day —Food banks are a much needed safety net for people. Sure, it’s a handout, but true charity is a cardinal virtue. Bad things can happen to anyone, as many are learning right now. I realize I’m “preaching to the choir,” but it bears repeating. And one can always spare a picnic basket for a needy bear …
Eat an Extra Dessert Day —Gent, especially you: sugar was first used in Barath (India) before 500 BCE. It’s a shame you didn’t have chocolate back then. What are folks’ favorite desserts? Mine is “something” chocolate.
National Macadamia Nut Day —Native to Australia, like Robin, they spell doom to anyone’s diet. My first exposure to them was as chocolate covered macadamia nuts. Talk about doomed … The entire box didn’t last a day. Perhaps they are related to toebeans …
This is great but I wish I knew what was going to happen. Have I ever mentioned that I want what I want and I want it right now? Not that I’m impatient or anything like that.
Glad to see Mags going to Baba Mouse with the news. She’s not really a bad sort, just something of a curmudgeon.
OT: I just finished another editing run of my stories and discovered that, in one of them, I had written “devise” when the word I wanted was “device.” Curse you correctly spelled wrong words!
Hopefully this means Baba Mouse has caught the vile racoons in the act and not that their going to demand something in return for giving her news of Bea’s predicament.
The Baba Mouse mug is now available on Zazzle, just ordered mine. I know it’s late but surely somebody else will post it on tomorrow’s board if I fall asleep before 1:00 a.m.

Maybe they’re looking for their long lost uncle Rocket Raccoon. According to their legends, he was abducted by outer space aliens.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
Baba-Stet: Your Majesty, I have seen a very disturbing image. Beatrixia is somewhere along the OhPun Road along the way to Afar.
Queen Catshepsut the Golden: Then it’s a good thing Elvis and Louie-Nour are headed that way with Vann!
At the Great Pyramid
Puckmosis: Here are the Papyri Bea was bringing. Where could she have gone from here?
Maat-Tilda: Look, here’s a note on the floor. “Found mysterious scroll. Going to Afar to investigate”
Puckmosis: Then we must head for the OhPun road. Hopefully we can meet up with Elvis-Anum and Louie-Nour.
Thomios: Look, I just found a scroll with a whole lot of recipes for treats.
Maat-Tilda: Arachna talks about a time when the spiders created Kat Treats, but the recipe has been lost to antiquity.
Thomios: Yeah, this jar of scrolls does look like an antique.

#byeFelicia (lol – if I’m using that it must’ve long lost it’s relevance)
Looking out
Across the night sky
Baba winks a sleepless eye
Hear her voice
At my window
Exasperated sighs
Git Mags out
Off her property
Just not a pleasant sight
If this town
Needs just one alpha
Then Baba’s always right
If they say,
Why, why, tell ‘em that it’s Baba’s nature
Why, why, does she do it that way
If they say,
Why, why, tell ‘em that it’s Baba’s nature
And that’s why she does it that way
She likes livin’ that way
And we love her this way
(That way) Why why
(That way) Why why
Why, why does she do things her way
If they say why, why, cha cha cha cha cha cha
Why does she do it that way
If they say why, why, why, ooo tell ’em
Why does she hate Mags that way
If they say why, ooo tell ’em
All must do what she says
If they say why, da da da da da da da da
Why does she do things that way,
she likes caring this way
Why, oh why, why, why
