I want that Flamingo playing the saxaphone for my “ Hall of Fame “ tie collection!

Why do I get the idea that these ties can be found in the real-life-Man’s collection?

How about a book showing different ways of tying the necktie?

Why don’t people give bow ties?

A man needs more ties.

My dad almost never wore a suit and tie. The wildest tie he ever possessed was one of those extra wide 50’s style ties with what looked like a water color painting of a pair of pheasants. It was a gift from one of his brothers. My dad always said if we buried him in a suit, he would come back and haunt us. Instead, he was wearing a western style shirt with a bolo tie when he went to his final resting place, slacks from his favorite sporting goods store, and of course, his western style boots!

Bah. We all know the boys are the best dads in the world. They raised a bookstore cat!

The flamingo tie is undoubtedly attractive, But I will take a pass on it in favor of the strawberry pie my wife is cooking up for me.

And in under-reported news, Goldie snags the bacon!

I have a couple ties from each of my grandfathers’ collections- they of course belonged to a generation that wore ties A LOT so they had a lot of ties (having four children each probably helped with that as well)- and I occasionally wear one to work. Several of my cousins also chose ties from the collections. Sharing out and picking the ties with the cousins are good memories that I am glad I have.

I am waiting for the chocolate pudding to cool for my husband’s chocolate cream pie so it can go in the fridge for tomorrow (still have to make the pie shell and the whipped cream — but that’s a tomorrow project). AND he gets a funky tie (plus a couple more finds from the local thrift store). But no flamingos.

No lie! A dyed tie you might enjoy in some wry way; a too tight tie – don’t even give it a try! – dyes your tongue and dries your eye, till you think you’ll die….ay, sigh! Bye!

I love that Puck is talking to his tie.

Is it just me who’s seeing this or is Puck’s green tie really smiling after being praised in the 3rd panel?

My father wasn’t a tie wearer. He was a dirt-track racer. He always got turtles for Father’s Day.

I’m pretty sure my dad has at least A tie…

I’m surprised no one has mentioned Pucky’s paw pads in the second panel.

This is beyond cuteness. Love that ‘flamingo playing saxophone’ tie. Where can I find one? LOL

I love that the tie the Man is wearing is just like Puck’s tie.

My parter has a large collection of unusual ties, many of which have been rhinestoned. I think my favorite, just for absurdity, depicts a shrimp cocktail and bottle of Tabasco.

I can count on one hand how many times I have worn a tie in 68 years.

For my current jobs initial interview over 25 years ago, I showed up in a suit and tie. I realized I was obvioulsy overdressed, and felt like a fool the whole time. Can imagine Ill ever wear one again much if at all.

Ah, the ties that bind! And gag!

Perhaps, in real life, the Dunn household celebrates Father’s Day by buying the Man another plaid (that’s tartan to Robin) flannel shirt.

Today is the summer solstice. For many of us here, though, the REAL longest day of the year involves running out of cat food or treats.

Anyone notice the notch in Beatrix’s ear? That’s done when a colony of wild cats are caged, spay/neutered and released back to where they were caught. My neighbor has a Maine Coon with that.

My favorite tie has a cat on it—a hand-painted tiger. However, I rarely wear ties anymore.

I’m surprised that Burt doesn’t have anything to say about ties.

In the 90s, my mom collected all of my dad’s 1980s ties, cut them up, quilted them, and used them to make teddy bears. They were gorgeous.

Wow! Flamingoes, saxophones and neckties! What a combination!

I’ll take the flamingo. They don’t make the “Pretty OK Dad” tie.

Back in the 1970s when my Dad wore ties I used to make them for him. I used bold prints mostly and he seemed to be fond of them, but I doubt that he ever talked to one!

Aww, Pucky is even friends with his tie.

Elbiff is surprisingly happy that the man has a “World’s Best Dad” tie. I would have thought that that honour resides with Elbiff and Elbiff alone, according to Elbiff.

Will we see new ties for the BCN crew? Perhaps the Flamingo playing the saxophone will make into the BCN wardrobe TARDIS (or Warehouse 13).

What a lovely tie for the Man. Happy Father’s Day!

The last time Dad wore a tie was at my cousin’s wedding earlier this year. Before that, it was my first wedding. He didn’t wear one at Mom’s funeral (or their wedding) as no one would have recognized him – he is just not into them.

My mom and sister independently made/bought workbench-themed Father’s Day cards, so we decided to go with it, so all my dad’s cards this year were workbench-themed ones, lol

I so want a T-shirt with a flamingo playing a saxophone.

I wasn’t lucky enough to have a dad like The Man, but one Father’s Day I will ne’er forget was when Mom found this greeting card… well, Dad was an expert fisherman and had his own craft business making high quality fishing lures. So this card has a silly looking cartoon fish wearing a tie,and underneath it says “Hey Dad! Guess what this is?” and he opens it up and it says “IT’S YOUR FATHER’S DAY COD!” He loved it!

Woman gave the “world’s best”, Boy a blue one, Girl a green one so the flamingo one came from…. the CATS!

I am glad that last panel described the tie. Now I can see it. Before, it looked like a pink turkey smoking a hookah. :)
