This whole adventure may lead to artistic inspiration for Sophie. Keep your eyes open for her next found-object art installation. (Oooh. I can’t wait. She’s so creative.)
Cats aren’t really built for mutual assistance in any size bigger than kitten. However, she will do what she can.
Most cats are much better at climbing up than down. I only had one cat, Johnny Depp, who could use his claws like spiked boots and unstick them properly for descent. I once saw him using the technique to move laterally around a tree trunk to avoid the attentions of an overly-curious fawn, who kept trying to sniff him.
Some slightly bad news on Georgia’s Facebook page, it looks like the new book is delayed again, but at least for now only by a week so March 22 instead of March 15, though Amazon still is showing it as March 15, they probably just haven’t gotten the update yet or had a chance to change. Georgia does have a pre-release copy of the book and she posted some pictures on Facebook. It looks like the newspaper strips will be one strip per page.

It’s been a crazy few days here with freezing temps in the single digits at night. I forgot to let the water trickle out of my faucets and my water lines froze. I had to stay in motel overnight. My water lines finally thawed out around noon. And now my internet keeps shutting down. It’s down again, but I’m using a mobile hotspot to keep working on the computer. This is the fifth time today it has gone down. I’ve contacted the internet provider, so they’re checking into it. I just hope everything is back to normal around here soon. Angel is freaking out, because we had to stay in a motel. She is not a big fan. LOL ….She’s happy to be home now :) You all stay safe.
Sophie reminds me of the Iron Paw. When the Boy Cat got stuck in the basement she got tired of me not being able to hear his cries for help – and went over, sat down by the first door to the basement and looked nonchalant. I went “nope, you can’t go to the basement”. She then meowed. And another “No, no basement.” She then “drummed” on the door and shot rays of anger my way and walked away. At that point I realized she was trying to tell me something and went to look in the basement – and discovered a cold hungry Boy Cat who had probably been stuck in the basement for 8 hours. :) The Iron Paw was not totally heartless towards her fellow cats.

On Bookface there’s a pic of the two cats almost touching as they snuggle. Do I simply copy and paste the link here? I’ll try.

So sweet of Sophie. And if they both go down, I see Tommy gallantly making every effort to land on the bottom and cushion Sophie with his fluff.

Tommy looks stunned by Sophie’s gesture. Stunned and love-struck.

Amazing grace
That Sophie’s found
To save a stuck Tommy
He once was bossed, but love profound
Is kind, and helped her see

Sophie likes Tommy, but she is painfully shy. Her favorite way to express herself is with her art.

From the Musical Kismet: Stranger in Paradise (Based on Borodin’s Polovetsian Dances)
Sophie: Take my paw, as I sit atop Paradise
Surveying all my realm,
The Queen here in Paradise!
Tommy: If I try hard to climb, that’s the danger of Paradise
For felines who try to climb, and aren’t in the best shape!
I saw the tower, and I ascended
From the hammock to go to the top tier!
And from my claws I am suspended
And I hope, you will help me get there!
Sophie: I will try my best to help you go
To the top of this Paradise,
I’ll never let you fall
From where you would wish to be!
Just take ahold of my paw,
As you climb up to Pardise
And look down at all the wonders
That are here to see!
