Puck, you are not fast enough. Like you, I fear OZ will wear out your welcome. Me thinks you need to share your concern with Lupin. He has the same frenetic energy. Perhaps he can keep up.
I do so miss waking up to having a loving cat sitting on my chest trying to suck the breath out of me. Essse tolerates me in “her bed” at night as long as I stay on my side.
Puckmosis: It’s great to have the Artisans from Afar joining us for the trip back. And our special guest, Beaver Lee Cleary.
Bev: How long will the trip take?
Elvis-Anum: We’re going to take it easy and make it a two-day trip. Floofnet the Joyous will have accommodations at the Ceiling Can Be a Floor Culinary School.
Puckmosis: If my hypothesis is correct, we may be spending a lot more time at the culinary school.
At The Ceiling Can Be a Floor Culinary School
Floofnet the Joyous: Welcome, friends. And special guests. You’re just in time for dinner!
Ora Z: Can I pound a pound cake while we’re here?
Floofnet: You can pound to your heart’s content. Maybe you can knead some bread dough as well.
Puckmosis: We were hoping we might be able to stay for a day or two. I have a feeling the unexplored corridors may hold a tremendous secret.
Floof: Now I am intrigued! Stay as long as you like.
Iggy seems a bit like my Sara. VERY sweet, even the POP thing, although when she pops up she lightly pokes me with her paw. She can also seem to fall into the background with Gracie dominating everything, similar to Ora Z. Although Gracie isn’t as all in for all mischief. I do try to stop what i’m doing when Sara pops up for attention. Gracie demands hers, but I have always refused to let Sara be the other cat. Two great cat types! I can see why Ora and Iggy were such a bonded pair.
I don’t think there’s any danger of the kittens being sent away. Iggy is so laid back, and Ora Zella’s tortitude is charming. She reminds me so much of my late Peekaboo, who went to the Rainbow Bridge seven years ago tomorrow. I love Ora almost as much as I love Puck!
In other news – I’ve taken the late Bill’s BCN Finder spreadsheet and done some updating. It currently contains direct links to the GC page for each strip; I’m working through the old BCN site to add those links as well. This was done in Excel, but the links also work if you use LibreOffice. Note – it’s ReadOnly; you can copy it but not change the master.
Rainbow Bridge -We had to help Merlin (19 yr old black Maine cn (censors won’t allow the real word)/persian mix) go over the bridge yesterday. He had two awful seizures in the morning and then another smaller one at the E-Vet clinic and hubby (he was mostly his boy) decided it was better to control when he went to sleep than to risk him suffering more. He was totally deaf and almost entirely blind and things were getting hard for him. He had a long loved pampered life with several hours a day of pat-pat on hubby’s lap in the recliner after sleeping next to me on my window seat. I miss him this morning not by my hip. He joins his nearly identical littermate brother Leo who passed in Jan 2020. Wish I could post a pic of them snuggled up together, we hope they are again now. While it’s always sad to lose a pet, this guy was I think 94 in human years so we are glad he is at peace. This leaves us with one kitty, Luna, who will be an only cat for at least a while. We’re getting older.
I just noticed how (in panel 2) The Woman’s face is a mirror image of Iggy’s – both with one eye peeping, and one eye closed. I find that very satisfying.
Honestly, I think I much prefer Iggy’s greeting to Ora Zella’s. I’m not quite ready for that much zest for life until I’ve been awake long enough to absorb my coffee.
ah the joy of waking up with a calm black and white tiny cat asleep on your hip, always a treat. We have a shy little tuxie who only sits on us when she’s sure we’re asleep
When we moved the clowder spent the first night all huddled together on our bed. And most of the next year and now they spend winter nights and colder spring mornings. Like today. When they woke me up at 0’Dark thirty wanting to be fed.
Tomorrow is the day Georgia will have surgery on her hand. She posted this “Tomorrow is hand surgery day! Thank you so much to everyone who suggested strips for reruns. I picked all classic strips from the original early days of the newspaper run! I hope you’ll enjoy them, I believe they will run in late May (since I work a bit ahead.) The Sundays should run in June, I believe! Thank you to everyone who has reached out with support and encouragement, and to the The Daily Cartoonist for their kind words here as well! (I forget somethings I share will become cartooning news! How surreal and sweet to see them wishing me the best, thank you!”

Sweet Iggy with the Toebean wave, then Ora Z escapes Puck for the pounce! Iggy’s tail poofs out, and the Woman is forced to greet the day.

Iggy was so sweet! Ora is a firecracker who removes the need for coffee to wake up. Poor Iggy bottle-brushed.

Seems Iggy is always pushed aside by Ora Z. He’s just too sweet. Love the little wave – and toe beans even tho I’m not a squealer.

The question is, which happened first — The people waking up and seeing the cats, or the cats waking up the people?

Notice the changes in Iggy’s left eye socket….such a big mood signifier in such a small detail. Georgia is a minimalist genius at cat expressions.
