Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
If anyone really wants to ramp up their anxiety for a thrill, search on YouTube for âKilian Bronâ and/or âowlapsâ and include âmegavalancheâ or âles 2 alpesâ. Itâs a complete 40+ minute ride of extreme mountain biking with a bodycam attached to the rider. Youâll never catch me doing something like that in my life.
Glorious action and color. Great strip of Cal in action â as always in fear of his life while flying and finding a good reason to love it when he lands.
Ok if Iâve said it once Iâve said it a thousand times, there is no way on Godâs green earth that this kid would be afraid of a silly little bicycle, no way, not a chance, it would be the exact opposite he would embrace it, let me at that thing., LOOK OUT HERE COMES CALVIN, BONZAI!!! Of course this is just a comicâŚ.lol
Reminds me of riding a roller coaster. I was never a fan of riding them, but my daughter loved them, sooooooo I went with her on these rides. I used to close my eyes on roller coasters, but found that if I did have my eyes open, I could see what turns and dips were coming up next. This allowed me to prepare for them by leaning the proper way to mitigate my bodyâs change of direction instead of getting tossed about randomly when my eyes were closed. I was amazed at how much easier it was to ride them by having my eyes openâŚbut Iâm still not a big fan of getting on such rides.
I actually read this one in the newspaper when I was a kid, I remember it taking me a minute to realize he was flying through the air upside-down in one panel
in NY we had sled parties when our hill was iced over. We had maybe 6-8 sleds and toboggans linked together- hands holding feet, and pine tree lining either side of the hill. what fun that was. Thank you Bill Waterson!
Wow, a Calvin and Hobbes strip I do not ever remember readingâŚ. Is it age-related memory loss or did I just ignore this one every time I came across it until todayâŚ?

I actually relate to Hobbes when I ride roller coasters.
Bilan about 17 hours ago
Calvin managed a Loop-the-Loop without a roller coaster.
snsurone76 about 17 hours ago
Is that a cardinal or a parrot? Maybe a hybrid of both.
snsurone76 about 17 hours ago
Dad would be proud of Calvin this once. After all, crashing into trees and nearly getting killed (as Sonny Bono was) âbuilds characterâ!

The snow board is still good for another round.

I like the way Watterson gives us Hobbesâ view.

Better find a new sled , that oneâs totaled.
Yngvar Følling about 14 hours ago
If Hobbes is a figment of Calvinâs imagination, how can we see this from his viewpoint?
drbee about 14 hours ago
Side-note to women- Unless you find this funny-but-factual, you will never understand the male mind.

Extreme sledding, itâs a thing!

It is my youngest nephewâs birthday today. My two nephews went off on a snowboarding holiday yesterday and I hope that they are enjoying themselves.

Only Bill can make us feel the experience of steering on the downhill without physically doing it. Great art work.

At 73, this is how I do the thrill rides at amusement parks any more⌠the ones I can go on without getting whiplash.
russef about 12 hours ago
I hear heâs changing the name to Calvin and Hobbles.

Was that one run or three? It looks like they crashed multiple times.

Thatâs what Sonny Bono said. Or would have. If they did not have to hose him off the tree.
Squoop about 10 hours ago
The panel with him causing the cardinal to fly away angrily is priceless.

Wattersonâs mastered the GoPro camera look before it was a thing.

Imagine having a strip this well drawn in a newspaper today. There are well-drawn strips in the papers today of course but nothing like this.

I used to think that stuff was fun. Now, at 70, Iâm far more careful of my bones.

Itâs too bad more cartoonists havenât been as ambitious as Watterson. Or some started out that way but lost it.
LEhydraclone about 7 hours ago
Its a wonder that his parents keep letting him do this.

Sitting here in sunny California, nothing better than a Sunday morning with Wattersonâs brilliant art bringing a snowy thrill ride to life!

Savor each ride. Let it, and yourselves, live in legend with each retelling.

So imaginative from Hobbeâs perspective. Love the depiction of his closed eyes!

We used to sled down a tight foot path on a forested hill. Right at the end was a chain link fence â we needed to bail out before hitting it.
Good times.
