I think we are starting to see a softer side of Tiffany.

Eight O’Clock Coffee ?? I haven’t seen that label (at least not out here in LA) since Ike was in the White House.

I believe Tiffany is just so oblivious that she is not considering what her choices of words or apparel might be having on Gunther. Right now, she’s looking at him in a new light since he came to her rescue, and is showing a little maturity by not depending on Gunth to do the work when she knows she easily could (although I doubt she’ll be much actual help).

The Spanish version lacks a certain amount of pizzazz. Gunther simply says, “Actually, I drink coffee.” ’

I think that’s her “Hello, Benjamin” moment.

It might be a bit difficult for Gunther to be totally focused on those field notes

flirting and teasing are part of normal courtship display activities. Of course, she is (partly unconciously and automatically) just trying to see if she can arouse and confuse the “brainy” , rational entitiy to reassure herself ofher personal power. We can only hope he will get some good learning experience out of the whole situation.

Gunther is handling this pretty well.

How do you know there were “a hundred” stings? How do you know there were any? Maybe Tiffany said she was getting bit to give Gunther an excuse to put his hands on her,

and he could get a really GOOD look at where the bites used to be. Might as well play her game, Gunth…

I think I can guess where Greg is going with this. Both attraction and a little maturing on both parts. Tiffany is discovering she actually doesn’t want to be the self-absorbed spoiled brat even though that’s all she knows how to be. Gunther is learning that he can be both assertive and himself without being terrified. He is essentially relaxed in this despite the awkwardness. We’ll see if that’s where he goes – but it is possible they could develop into something. Still, I thought Ox was good for Tiff.

I don’t get it: in a movie is normally acceptable that college students have sexual intercourses, why in a comic strip this is not even an option? (I mean suggest it, not showing, off course)

Because the comic strip mentality is still stuck in the 50’s. Newspaper editors don’t like sex, or even the mention of sex, or so I’ve heard.

The mention of coffee snapped Gunther out of his jittery passive self. He remembered that he is now playing it more on the edge. And although ReallyBad2 said it first, I believe that Bernice down the hall will be knocking on the door any minute, This may occur after Gunther spills coffee on himself and has to remove his shirt. Gosh, I think they’re good for each other. I don’t have a clue how far this goes on … or the ending.

I see another possible angle here — Does Tiff know that Quill is going to New York with Luann? Gunther seems like the kind of guy who’d let that slip, not thinking it was anything important, and not having been told not to say anything…or if she DOES know (I haven’t seen every strip) she may be doing the flirty stuff to get info. OR, she may just be comfortable with Gunther, since he seems to “get” her and isn’t phased by her. We’ll see…

I’m reminded of a tale in which a couple keeps mentioning past activities, followed by.“We tried it once but didn’t like it.”.Finally, they mentioned their son..The listener responded,“An only child, I assume?”.Tiffany’s a cute little temptress-wannabe.

Forget realism. If Greg wanted realism, Knute wouldn’t have that nose. The ant bites were just a vehicle to get Gunther and Tiffany to her room. There is a tad of sexual tension, but mostly it’s just two people, with their own issues, taking the first steps to mutual understanding, perhaps respect, and hopefully a true friendship.

She’s a woman who does her own thing, dances to her own tune. That makes her a “tramp” to a lot of sexist judgmental people, sadly.

Tiffany has always been like that. Remember when she bought a string bikini so she could have a suntan on her bottom?

Unless Greg does something stupid and sends in Dez with a bunch of hungry llamas, these two should just be left alone to develop an appreciation for each other and be comfortable as study buddies. Tiffany is not a slut, she’s a virgin looking for someone to actually care for her as a person. This is something that she does not get at home. Gunther needs to drop his guard and not always be so intimidated. I really want this odd couple to depend on each other and form a bond.

Sigh. So many commenters see what they what to see, for one reason or another, riding their hobby horses. rather than seeing what is actually drawn. For example, Tiffany is not “flashing” Gunther. Her left leg is lifted to the couch on Gunther’s left , and he merely glances (panel 2) when Tiffany prompts him to look and see that the ant bites (not stings) are better.

I trust that their coffee-fueled study session will be productive and help each develop a little more as a maturing character….

Wow guys way to jump to “Tiff is such a slut!” almost immediately. She hasn’t done anything wrong. She made a joke about her make up, and then went to show Gunther that he had helped her. Her robe is COMPLETELY CLOSED. Just look at the art. It’s closed. She’s not flashing him. Gunther is the one who is making it more than it is. For those of you complaining about the “together” part…she was simply saying that she wanted to contribute. She wanted, for once, to not be the selfish brat who gets As based on hard work that she didn’t actually do. And even if she WAS hitting on him…who cares? Just because you personally have no game doesn’t mean that the rest of us don’t. Everyone is entitled to their own sexual freedom. It’s a little bit creepy that you think that you should be able to dictate what every single person does in the bedroom.

I think they will end up friends. It’s nice to start seeing Tiffany as a woman with real issues, and a personality. I imagine that she is very lonely. I have noticed over the years that she has never really dated, or been accepted by many.. She’s the pretty one that every guy is afraid to ask out, so she never gets a date. Gunth would be good for her.

I always thought parody was legal fair use of otherwise copyright-protected work … which would mean that whatever lawyers at GoComics are directing the takedowns would be liable for civil damages if the person who did the parody sued and won.Perhaps they are counting on the fact that no one here would likely bring such a lawsuit.
