Jock back to hitting on Luann who broke up with Quill I see. (Will the lass say yes to the lad this time?)

Maybe I’ll check back in another week. Just can’t deal.

Someone suggested, earlier this week, that the big guy would hit on Luann. I guess you get the prize.

Now the question is, will Luann and Jock Strap hit it off?

Bernice got all fired up about finding her own life passion, due to the influence of Luann. But over a few weeks of questionable interactions, that quest has not come to a conclusion at all.-However, I’m guessing that a big change is right around the corner for Luann, and that it will probably be shocking. I’d hope so, because after the buildup that’s been going for months, anything less than that would be anticlimactic.

Maybe The Cyclops boy is on the right track. There are, and have been, many very talented artists but they are mostly lost in the deluge of other very fine artists. What they turn out doesn’t stand out. Every summer we go to the Ann Arbor street art fairs, where there are hundreds of artists. With the University of Michigan as a backdrop, I just trail along and wait for something to just “pop” for me, to stand out, to be unique. Not that many actually ring my bell and draw me in for a closer look.

I’ll admit it – now I want to see Hatty McEmoFace’s real art work.

Actually, I think that all three of these classmates should go out together……….kind of like a Larry, Moe, and Curley date.

No, Jock, it’s still too soon for you to ask.

Mr. Emo One-Eye (is he a part of the Illuminati?) has said his first intelligent thing, IMO.

Now we are really in college! The attitudes of these three victims of the mad professor Zébo are paradigmatic responses.Will Luann go out with Jocko? Doubtful; certainly not on an “official” date. Maybe a group outing including Emo would work; who knows who they might run into at the WeenieWorld?

Now a couple of points about Ms DeGroot:

1) She’s Loving and caring.2) She loves kids.3) She love Her Dog.4) She has this ex boyfriend named Gunther who is very jealous and has a terrible Temper and knows Ju-Jitsu.5) She is a Cultured COFFEE Drinker, as many of the Finer Folks are.6) She Just Loves being Tickled on a Soft Feather Bed with the song “Muskrat Love” playing in the background. AND7) Her Father, Frank, is a very powerful Business Man who employs a Guy with Mob Ties that goes by the name of “Mr. Gray” and if Frank finds You did Number 6 with His Little Girl, He’ll have “Mr. Gray” make You Disappear like Jimmy Hoffa.

Not thrilled with the jock stereotype, even if it is 80% true.

The first time Lu refers to a career when she uses the word “passion”, she’s misconstrued. Jock, you know her too well!

Actually, Mr. Jock (is his first name maybe “Jacques”?) seemed actually to enjoy creating his art in this class, particularly drawing his dogs, and he takes pride in what he produced. It is in fact Luann who could find an easy “A” beneficial on her transcript. Emu has totally different ideas about art from his teacher’s, so I suppose he represents Greg Evans when he was an art major in college.

Ok, Lu, have coffee with Jock (or a beer if it’s legal in your state). Then run into Tiff. Betcha she’d be jealous and hit on Jock— that too would be a great (temporary) pairing.

6I like “Emory’s” (Emo’s) stance on his own art, even though I think calling school art “bogus” is a bit strong. To me, school art is a way to learn some basic techniques and to explore different forms of art making that are commonly done. A true artist will take those experiences, and will be able to use either some of the techniques, forms, or experiences to make his art more transformative. While I think it would be interesting for “Jacque” (Jock) to go on a date with Luann, I think it should be later…. not now. I am still feeling a bit overloaded on Luann’s “love life” after all the Luann/Quill focus. I would rather keep seeing Luann do something OTHER than seeking a relationship for the time being.

They both like dogs.

Go for it, Luann. Add “jock” to your new life experiences.

Makes me wonder what his “non school art looks like”.

football scholarship to community college?

“A whole year of art,” Luann said on Monday. I’m wondering if Gregg has put the last two years into one year Luann time so that this is really the end of her freshman year of college instead of her sophomore year. Any thoughts on this?

No, we don’t know very much at all about Mr. Jock. That means that we nevertheless know more about him than we do about Piro, and we know only slightly less about him than we’ve ever learned about Quill. (Note that all 3 characters have only a single name, since they are too superficial to merit further identification.)

He does not care one way or another about the color, so that is fine.

My guess (I hope) is that Jock is just being Jock and that like before, nothing will come of his comment. Luann is talking to Emo and may not even be aware of Jock’s request.

Perhaps Luann’s life passion will be being a grade school librarian.

Or intermediate school….

She is only about 19 now in the Luanniverse, with minimal exposure to the options life has. Granted, Luann has liked things she has done and has been very good at some of them, but there are so many possibilities that could wind up exciting the character but which she has never tried. Some kids know early what they want to be, but many more discover that later.

I think the romance possibility between the jock and Luann are remote at best. However being a good and loyal friend are strong. He is actually a friend to mr. Emo/Goth, who is a 100% different person. I have known some non-arrogant jocks over the years, and they can be terrific people. Of course, going to an all-boys Catholic school I have plenty of opportunity to know the other arrogant kind too. I am proud to say my own son also went to an all-boys Catholic football power school, and he was one of the non-arrogant jock types, and he still is that way. Terrific person too, but I am biased of course. -:) I don’t know where this arc is going, but for one thing I think its a tension release arc after all the drama with Gunther and Bernice and tangentially Piro. But the romantic angle with Luann and the jock guy, no I don’t see it.

What if what is going on “tonight” is a charity event Jock finds interesting as a learning option, or a seminar on figuring out personal interests and strengths? Granted, he has often been interested in Luann, but what if this time he is just going to tell her about something that coukd interest her and open new learning options?

Spoiler: she’s with Clueless. Naw, not that way…
