Luann looks quite poised today.

The guy on the far left is “supposed to be” abstract art. As for Emo kid, he’s consistent with his minimalism. And it’s kind of original for Jock guy to be the only one to dress someone other than himself—maybe he’s getting some creativity out of the class!

There seems to be much more “Be noticed” than “Notice” happening in the strip today.

Why do I get the feeling that Zebo is going to dis Luann’s dress? Not artsy-fartsy enough for him, I’m thinking.

Those “artsy” costumes reminded me that my 12 year old daughter wants me to dress for Halloween. Perhaps I’ll go as a 75 horsepower Evinrude outboard boat motor.

Looks like Emo kid is wearing a skin-colored Borat-style outfit, so he’s not really naked. But even if he were — we’ve seen it all before kid. Seems kind of hard to be non-conformist these days when the Internet pretty much shows everyone the gamut of possibilities (including a lot that you don’t want to see). And being Emo, by definition, means you’re conforming with that particular genre/look.

 Up against the competition, here, I’d say that Luann’s dress — while being a perfectly fine bridesmaid dress and a creation that she can be proud of — is still probably the most pedestrian, ordinary, boring entry of the lot from the perspective of it being some sort of unique artistic statement. Oh well. I do like her pose and her confident smile while wearing it.

I really enjoyed the arc about the firefighter’s party for Toni and Brad. I guess she has decided not to use both her and Brad’s last name together? My first thought was how will people know she is married? I’m guessing firefighters don’t wear their wedding rings to work? Just a thought…I’m old-fashioned, I’d hyphenate my last name with my husband’s last name (which I don’t do for various reasons…besides it’d only make my last name even longer!). But, it is a different world for each generation, I guess! Luann must really like her bridesmaid’s dress…by the time the wedding gets here, the dress will be all worn out! =-O Enjoy your day! :)

Looks to me like the guy next to the TV remote is making some sort of rainbow statement. And like everyone got either “wearable” or “art,” but only Jock’s dog actually managed to combine the two…

Man…Is that supposed to be a rip on Trump with the dog and the wig and tie? There is no escape from this crazy campaign it seems. Well, Trump has his problems but he is WAY better than Hillary. You can’t have a corrupt liar as President..Obstruction of Justice is illegal regardless if the Obama justice department is corrupt and not enforcing laws. I cant wait till the election is over.

Two things:

First, if anyone is wondering why Jock is allowed to bring a dog on campus, let alone into a classroom…well, did anyone say it was a real dog?

And second, hey — we’re actually seeing two more of Luann’s classmates, and they AREN’T SILHOUETTES! ;o)

Now, if you really want wearable art, bring in Lady Gaga.

Hurrah! Two more people in the class. Guess Zebo’s reputation as an instructor is getting around.

Another point is that I’m sure that the other students actually designed and made their creations, while Luann only designed hers, and Gunther made it a reality. This is an art class, after all. Still, she’ll probably get an A.

Yeah, it kinda does.

The guy on the left, looks like those handle bar streamers, that kids used to have on their bikes!

From left to right:1) Colorful abstract art; 2) Dada-esque pop art; 3) Ordinary bridesmaid’s dress; 4) Political caricature art; 5) Nihilist art. The assignment wasn’t to design a “costume” or just “wear something you designed yourself”, it was to create art that could be worn. Luann completely failed to understand the concept. Of course, that means that her project is the very best one!

At least we have seen two other srudents in this class now!

Well he must be cold ole one eye. But since part of art is drawing nudes, his won’t be a problem in art class. They are all adults after all.

I really wish Luann would get rid of that bow on the front. To me, it spoils the dress.

Why is there a second semester of this class?

Luann is quite unoriginal as always. Bet Zebo will rave over her dress as he did before about her art work which was also uninteresting. Some teachers have a fave student that s/he would rave over when there is actually nothing to rave about. Needlessly to say, these students get easy A for putting in almost no effort, thought or anything.

No one has mentioned the Donald Trump dog in the Jocks arms.

For me, today’s effort was very fun!

Although, I think the “art” could have been stronger for ALL of the students, I think they each attempted to show an interpretation of wearable art.

Now, what I am wondering in regards to Luann, is which of the following three scenarios will be what pans out?

A) Professor Zebo likes Luann’s dress, and proclaims it is wearable art because it displays the form of the body nicely…. and she earns an “A”.

.

B) Professor Zebo thinks Luann’s dress is not “art” in terms of the assignment, and instead thinks it is just a piece of clothing pretty much like any other clothing….. and she earns a “C”, “D”, or “F” depending upon how harshly he grades.

.

C) Professor Zebo is either favorable, unfavorable, or neutral about the dress as art…. but in some fashion (pun intended) it is learned that Luann only designed the dress and did not MAKE the dress. To my way of thinking, this could be VERY much against the rules of the assignment. It is in some ways to me like a person entering a baking competition and then bringing a Papa John’s Pizza as their entry because they chose the toppings. In this scenario, it is possible that Professor Zebo would give Luann an “F”.

I get the human calculator, bridesmaid dress, puppy costume, nothing-to-hide. But what is the parti-colored strips artist saying?

Luann did not make her dress-she should not get credit for it.

Professor Zebo’s art class being only in Luannverse (he could be like a 201, 202 art appreciation course) it gives the strip a whole platform of opportunity to express different plot ideas. Plus I love the characters, from Goth boy, to the genial jock, and Zebo himself. Plus maybe Luann is hoping to get an A on her dress, just as Gunther got an A in his engineering class. I think the naked Goth is funny, and Mr. Jock is a real softie, though I would not want to run into him on the football field. I like the young lady as a remote. Comcast maybe? The other student seems to be having streamers on a box he is in. Interesting. Art appreciation means wide open. My only question is besides the maid of honor dress, how does this fold into what is the theme for 2016, the wedding of Brad and Toni?

Luann’s best chance is to hope that Prof. Zebu interprets her art project as a satirical social commentary on tacky wedding attire.

Wow,it’s obviously impossible to make a pretty dress if you’re in “Luann”.

I still think there is potential that because she did not MAKE the art (dress), she may be in trouble.

Now, PROBABLY nothing problematic will happen. And, that is ok by me. It need not be a problem in the story arc. I just know that at least from my perspective as a teacher, I would have a problem with Luann not making the dress if it were my class. And, yes, I do know there are many teachers who WOULD NOT have a problem with it.

Art is design , not construction. We also don’t know if “Remote Girl” or “Streamer Guy” actually made their outfits either.

How do you define “wearable art”? Luann has designed a lovely outfit that can be worn somewhere besides trick or treating or a nudist beach. Is that right, or are the outfits of the other students more correct?

Take the flecking bow off and the dress might be considered acceptable.
