Welcome back Mr. Gray, and Pru is really sweet to everyone. Les is so needy, a needy sociopath, if he is one. Could be a problem.

Les stick to something you’re good at, like stealing.

Les sees only what he wants to see…

And SOMEHOW. Les will go through the day without noticing everyone else’s cookies.

(And it seems TJ is back from wherever he went so B & T could do their “couple stuff”.

Of course they don’t continue from Saturday. This comic strip always teases it’s audience, and then completely betrays them by leaving them on a cliffhanger, which is one of the cheapest storywriting techniques ever.

@VIET: No, Les isn’t noticing Pru handing out cookies to all her coworkers. As some have said earlier, above, Les only sees what he wants to see. He tends to blame everyone but himself when things go wrong for him, and part of that comes from being so self absorbed that he doesn’t see what’s happening all around him…

So, what happened to the TV?

This story arc is taking a very ominous turn. Les is not going to react well when he finds out about Pru’s sexual preferences. He already has all the earmarks of a stalker/abuser, who will refuse to take no for an answer. Pru is in for a very rough time of it, I do believe.

@ASHARAH: If you dislike the character of Luann so much that you want her to tell a potentially violent felon that he is mistaken in his understanding of Pru’s interest in him, maybe you should visit other ‘toons. I understand that some kind of war between green frogs from another planet and some cave dwellers is anticipated over on the ’_*ALLEY OOP*_ site. That might be more to your liking. Me, I don’t like the idea of provoking one character here to clobber another, and I don’t think that someone who is going to college and working with kids needs ‘something to do’. But that’s just me…

I may have to chew on frozen crow, but I am “all in” on the Evanses wanting Les to grow a little with this arc. For that to happen, he has to get hit by an emotional tsunami.

Interesting…. it sure seems like Les must be truthfully smitten with Pru. The drawing style and language do not suggest any sort of ruse by him to me.

So, when Les finally discovers Pru is not available to him romantically, what will be his reaction? a) anger and violence….b) frustration, sadness, and eventual growth….c) embarrassment, resentment, and acting out….d) two of the above are correct….e) all of the above are correct

I am hoping at best for “b”, but I think the most likely case is “b” & “c”. I am hopeful that no part of “a” surfaces.

At some point Les has to learn that he can’t buy his way into a woman’s heart.

Les is about to experience something that reminds me of a song from the late 50’s……….The Big Hurt, with all of its strange tonal qualities, like being in a wind tunnel.

Never met a gay guy who was hostile to me. Lesbians, on the other hand, are usually hostile, with the exception of two or three that were more like Pru. Must be my overwhelming French/Irish testosterone, because its certainly not my hot bod.

@STACEY MARSHALL: Pru has no way of really knowing that Les thinks she’s interested in him. He told her the jewelry he bought her was costume jewelry, and she had no reason to believe otherwise. She is just a kind hearted person, which can be seen from the fact that she took the time to bake cookies for all of her coworkers when most of them aren’t giving out gifts.

I hate how Greg jumps from one arc to the next, I really think he needs to finish up one storyline before moving on to the next. That being said, why are we back on this? She is a lesbian!! She needs to admit it and stop beating around the bush. My lesbian side is starting to get offended.

For some reason, your “Reply” link (and that of Mordock999’s immediately beneath your post) isn’t working.

This is because we are all suckers for somebody. only sometimes they are not the right person for us. they are so wrong for each other. I only Hope “Les won’t be More” of an angry person when he discovers she doesn’t swing his way. And Prun(ne) has been so strangely naive it is scary. I didn’t expect her to be that naive.

That lesbian is going to turn him into a better person, until he finds out she’s a lesbian.
