Fay’s comment to Les is a sweet one. Hopefully, Les does not turn it into meaning he is capable of swindling more than he already knew he could. Maybe it will be a turning point for him interacting with little Fay and realizing that money he skimmed from the children’s theater fund could directly affect someone as sweet as she is, basically, like stealing from her directly.
Maybe from Fay’s statement, Les will discover his hidden passion for wiping floors instead of tables, then go on to make a floor wiping business: Less mess on Les’s floors
Luann, why not just leave her the h*ll alone? She doesn’t feel up to it and she doesn’t need to be pushed into something that will ultimately embarrass her.
It occurs to me that Glinda’s lines/entrances/exits/actions could be learned in an hour or two. It’s plausible that Fay could jump into that role with half a day’s notice if some inconvenience befell the currently cast actress and her understudy. And just sayin’ goes without sayin’.
From the Look at me! Look at me! Way Off Topic Department: I just made what is probably going to stand as my best bilingual pun of the year. But not here. Over at another comic on this site. Rats.
I think the comment from Faye ties into Les’s anticipation of the fruit of last week’s arc. I am certain the axe Les has picked up has not fallen on Ann yet, and Faye is unknowingly reassured him it will be a good one.
And the fact that Les calls her “Cinderella” makes his comment even more “legit,” since he doesn’t know which character she’s supposed to be.
Yeah, the icing on the cake will be if, somehow, Les can take Ann down, if she does something that merits that action. They’ll both have to deal with “Uncle Al…” but, hopefully, Les will be able to convince him of Ann’s transgressions.
On to the next arc, then…. Let’s catch up on Brad & Toni.
OK… some interesting crossover. Hopefully next week will determine if these two characters (Fay and Les) and their very disparate needs will get overlapped….somehow.
So does any girl in this strip act their actual age? Shannon is 6 and acts like she’s 4, Luann is 18-19 and acts like she’s 14, and now Fay here is 13 and acts like she’s 8.
I suppose we should not fault Leslie for thinking that pink gown indicates Cinderella (it did in the old Disney animated film). But Fay-as-Glinda is coming out of her shell even more, daring to approach the still dangerous Leslie Knox, whose reaction is surprisingly pleasant.
It seems it turns out that Luann has more of an innate talent for psychotherapy than Big Bad Bernie the Psych Major ever will….
Wow, go to sleep early for a night and look what happens! Fay in a whole different character, which fits her so well, orchestrated by Luann, in her role as a confidence builder, with Les suddenly showing up as a character that they communicate with. After the last two arcs! What a way to bring them together! This being Saturday I wonder what next?

One small step for Fey, a giant creep for clearing tables.

Les is being positive and encouraging! I guess the ‘Les haters’ will have to hate someone else for now.

Monday: Time for Tara & Luann to go clubbing and flirt with guys. Much better than clubbing with Bernice – they’ll see some action…
