Les hasn’t seen “Tiffading” lately, has he?

Well, this was a nice man-to-man talk when discussing their parental figures.

Les has predicted Uncle Al and Mrs. Berger will not happen. Naturally that means it will and they are probably getting engaged right now while their boys are in the kitchen.

Ah. And so, as Predicted, Les turns the conversation to “Hot, Juicy, Potential,” Tiffany.

Not to Worry, though. The “New and Improved” Les is only asking about Tiff because He’s concerned about Her Well Being, NOT because He wants to get His Slimy Paws On Her.

Not.

Talk all u want Less. But you and tiff?“Ain’t going to happen!”

Don’t let your meatloaf.

Let’s see, Tiffany’s self esteem is in the toilet and Les’ a total manipulating sociopath…I don’t see how they can do anything but hook up…and I mean that in the biblical sense; and Gunther ? totally clueless.

Yesterday, Gunther was coming unglued when Les was saying that Ma Berger was not a “Victoria’s Secret”.

But now, notice that Gunther is quite comfortable with Les’s remark that his mother is all about him. And… is not going to hit it off with uncle Al. Gunther wants the status quo to last forever. He’s completely terrified that it will change!

Definitely an Oedipal relationship, just minus the sex. Which Gunther’s also terrified of.

Wait ’till Les finds out those things he is eating are dog kibbles.

Les says, “She’s (Ma Berger) all about you (Gunther).” And Gunther says, “You’re probably right.” Gunther still wants it that way. Sooooo sad. When with Tiffany – Gunther tries to sort out Tiffany’s life with her. Tiffany needs to talk to Gunther about Gunther for a while – it might do both of them a lot of good.

Look, it’s normal for many kids to be nervous about any talk or thoughts about the sex lives of their parents. And I don’t mean to be a downer here, or whatever. But it’s been obvious from the beginning that Gunther and his mom have a really unhealthy, oedipally charged relationship. She suffocates and infantilizes him, so of course he’s going to get angry. G., free yourself. No one else will.

At least, it may be a way for Greg/Karen to acknowledge that Gunther does have a “more than friends” interest in Tiff… It may start off looking like he’s just trying to fend off Les’ interest in her, but we’ll see. Tiff couldn’t make it for dinner because she’s feeling tired, and that morning sickness is really getting to her.

After they finally agreed to be somewhat civil towards one another, this is the topic that can put Gunther and Les at odds again. If it does, I suspect that Gunther’s latent Knight In Rusty Armour (my fellow musicologists will get that reference….) tendencies will surface.

I don’t know that your doing Tiff any favors by protecting her, Gunther. College seems to be not working for her. Yes I know her father is the trigger for her depression/weight gain, but she was having issues before that and asked Gunther what she was doing wrong, especially with guys. Assuming Les hasn’t got any STD health issues, maybe Tiff should loosen up a bit, explore a bit, and have sex with him. She is young, in college, if things don’t work out she can move on. She certainly wouldn’t be the first young woman to experiment sexually at that age. Aside from jealousy that Les might be getting laid when he isn’t, I can’t really explain Gunther’s behavior. He’s getting a little too possessive of Tiff, who isn’t his property in any way. Meanwhile, Gunther? Get a makeover and find a “nice” girl if that works for you. I know you mean well but Tiff isn’t your princess to save.

Gunther left Rosa in Peru and returned home specifically to keep his Mom from hooking up with Mr. Gray, because his Mom’s getting married would upset Gunther’s life plan. As you will recall, what Gunther wants in life is to have his Mom living in a granny flat with him and his family and continuing to devote her life to caring for him. Now it turns out that there was no need for Gunther to come back from Peru, because Mr. Gray doesn’t want to hook up after all, and Mom B. is totally dedicated to being with her Gunthy for the rest of her life! If that’s the case, then his return from Peru was unnecessary, so can he now be sent back?

So what the hell is wrong with meat loaf?

@TRILOGY: From my perspective, there’s nothing wrong with meat loaf. There are some very tasty versions that are even good for those of us with borderline diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. Most people think of meat loaf as a dry slab of mystery meat that we used to get in our school cafeterias. It’s all in the way that it’s made, and it can be a lot better than the average slider…

BRDSHTT used to provide recipes, back in the day. I’ll bet he has a decent meat loaf recipe…

My wife makes the greatest meat loaf, as does my mother, although sheonly cooks for one these days so I doubt SHE has made on in years. She is going on 93…

“Tiffa ding " is always more interesting than meatloaf, Gunther. (Although I do like meatloaf, and Meatloaf, too.).

Leslie has been raised rude, so I suppose you can cut him some slack here (but not too much)….

@SISYPHOS: We don’t actually know a lot about how Les was raised; I wouldn’t think that his mother had much to do with it, if he ended up in his uncle Al’s house. I’ve figured he bounced from foster care home to charm school (juvie) and back. He used to act like he was raised by wolves, except I think wolves would have been embarrassed to own up to him…

Gunther is trying to divert the subject. Gunther is protecting Tiff!! If Les gets one whiff that Tiffany ’ has really let herself go’, He’ll drop that subject like a hot potato – or yam – (or meatloaf)!! :)

I suspect Les has not seen Tiffany since the weight gain.

Maybe Ma Berger will make an announcement at dinner, i.e. of her and Al’s engagement….Ha Ha… in response to Les’s prediction.

Les is forgetting to who(m) he is speaking. Just not Gunther’s thing to objectify women. I do hope she shows up at dinner to see what reaction Les has.
