looks like Steph was “through being cool” and got into “a big mess” playing “peekaboo” with the neighborhood kids. I have a “gut feeling” he is tired “working in a coal mine” in this “beautiful world”…..

Steph, weren’t they young when they wore that getup? (Hint, hint)

Luckily there’s Google and You Tube, so I don’t have to ask what the heck that meant.

Although now that I hear the song, it does sound vaguely familiar.

I’m not sure if Steph has reached a new high or a new low with today’s strip, but I just had to add this one to my saved comics!

People my age reading this are just rolling our eyes while everyone younger than Pastis are desperately searching Google trying to figure out what the joke is.

I prefer to think of them as moronic.

Come to think of it, I am guessing I saw this exact comic a few months ago. Maybe Stephan is a fan of Dionne Warwick as well.

At least back then we knew the costumes were just that – costumes. Who can tell nowadays?

Pastis might be the only person in the world who can consistently deliver funny puns!

I was barely aware of Devo at that time. I spent my time, energy and money listening to bands that had some musical talent.

Yet another day where the comments are as entertaining as the strip.

Steph looks pretty buff in his wife beater. (I know, I know, not pc).

Was dog-shopping at a breeder who was known for his lack of verbs in conversation. We were discussing the possibility of acquiring a breed for single people. I suggested a whippet. He replied, “Whippet. Whippet good”.

Stephan should decide on whether to be whipped or creamed for this strip.

Every time I see Battered Something on a menu, I think, “You don’t have to batter it. Just slap it around a little, maybe threaten its family.”

Not as bad if he dressed like A Flock of Seagulls

Stephan, You should realize the following:“You never fail to satisfy. SATISFYYYYYYYY!!”—Hot Chocolate, “Every 1’s a Winner”.

And take that stupid flowerpot off your head. (Although, I thought that was the funniest thing about them).

I think Stephan’s song would be Jocko Homo ;)

Where’s Stewie when we need him?

Oh, dear. Being of the elderly persuasion, one of my favorite albums was “Whipped Cream and Other Delights” by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to look at it again. (Yes, I still have it. On vinyl.)

I have gotten Devo often confused with the Knack and the Vapors. Must be a Clash of Punk Pop. Everyone else is a bunch of Pretenders.

Give the Pastis the slip!

Uncontrollable Urge.

Once again, Stephan needs a Band Aid.

There was a misheard reference to a lyric in a well-known Eagles’ song as “Cool Whip in my hair”. Singing that would not make one DEVOid of embarrassment.

So Rat and Steph are having cocoa. I guess that Some Like It Hot, so when they make it on the stove they make sure that The Heat Is On until it gets Hot Hot Hot.

Loved Devo when I was in high school. New Traditionalists was out, and I had bought Freedom of Choice in middle school.

I remember being overjoyed in 2007 when Dell had Devo write a new song for their XPS campaign. The song was called “Watch Us Work It,” and you can find the video here. (Hope that link works.)

My older brother and I saw them in the early 80’s at the University of Houston. I found out later that this happened.

My brother is gone now, having passed away in 1988 at 32, but every time “That’s Good” comes on my playlist, I think about him. We laughed and laughed at the video for it. Good memories!

Cartoon-Boy’s deviant DEVO behavior has awakened so many memories, as this comment board shows….

How old is Pastis?? I had no idea what he was talking about, so I checked. Now, I’m bleaching my eyes and perforating my eardrums with an ice pick. And I’m afraid it won’t be enough… What’s “Devo”? “Devo-lution”? “De-evo-lution”?

It’s unlikely anyone will see this, but here goes: During the ‘80s, on U.S. Route 202 someone kept spray-painting out the ’N’ on the exit sign for Devon, PA.

My dad showed me this one time because we used to have a bird feeder and I was walking by and the shadow was on my head an it looked like that hat.
