Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be

email for more details.
Iâm afraid Tiff is right in her assessment of the situation. Tomâs gonna have to disillusion himself from Anne Awful. His beer goggles are gonna have to fall off on their own. Hope it happens soon.
This does point out what would be a major stumbling block in a Tiffany / Les relationship â the difference in their family wealth. Tiffany is taking the high ground because she can, but for Les there is nothing but low ground.
See its all about the parents. I feel for Les, he has good reason to dislike his mom. Maybe we will find out why he is paying her back. Once done will that draw Tiffany in to his scheme? And so judgmental. Les has a reason for being the way he is, spelled Ann Eiffel. He is getting better I contend. Will Tiffany help him heal his wound, after she has begun to heal hers? Itâs all about the parents.
I see Lesâ point. Ann is making Les pay back all the money he stole from her, but Ann gets away with âstealingâ others money through fraud and itâs okay? I would be pissed, too. If Tiffany has truly let it all go, then she should give the list to Les and let him deal with it how he needs to. Tiffanyâs problem was her perception that Ann was âstealingâ her dad and she wanted revenge. The problem Les has is more personal in that he has to make restitution for what he stole from his mother, but she does not have to make restitution for what she stole from customers through her fraud. Do as I say, but do not do as I do.
I donât recall Les explicitly telling Tiffany that he is repaying stolen money, which suggests they have had conversations not portrayed in the strip.
I donât recall ⊠because the dinner party where Les and Tiffany clicked appeared in May of last year. Itâs one thing to bounce between arcs and we hardcore followers keep track. But to expect a general audience to remember details presented a year ago presumes a level of give-a-damn that your average reader might not possess.
You Know Dear Friends? Something tells Me that before this Arc is over, Hell before this week is over even:
Les â âYOU have Got EVERYTHING, Tiffany! Iâve got Nothing!â
Tiffany â âWrong, Les. You NOW have Me!â (She leans over and plants big wet long passionate kiss on Lesâ lips) And remember, darling, I STILL have half my dadâs money coming in, which Iâll gladly share! Among Other things!"
Les â "Weeeeeeeell, O-KAY!
(Meanwhile across town)
Ann â âNow Remember Tom, You have to send those wedding invitations out, Pick up my cleaning, and cut your daughter off completely, forever, from any and ALL funding! Itâs time that girl stood on her OWN two feet! And donât forget that we have to be at the dealership at 2pm to pickup my new BMW M5!â
Tom â (Meekly) âYes, Muhlove.â
And at the Berger Homestead, a pained, swaying Gunther Berger grabs his forehead as he suddenly feels a Great Disturbance in the Force, as if three Gunther Fans cried out in Horror and were suddenly Silenced.
Thief begat thief? If Ann abandoned Les so early how did he manage to pick up so many of her traits? Could it be that Uncle Al, who supposedly DID raise him, is kindred spirit to Ann? NahâŠ
And what about the money you pinched from the Fuse, Les? When will you âfess up to that?
Judging by results, Tiff should suggest a session with Mrs. Fogerty.
GnK appear to have resolved Tiffâs daddy-approval issue. But ONLY with âDADDYâ. Weâll have to wait to see if her acting-out of that approval issue with other men has improved. Mondayâs strip seemed to imply, ânot so much.â
The legal eagles and psyche majors are having a field day with this Tiffany/Daddy/Ann/Lingerie novel lately.
I was only able to reach this âtoon by clicking a âforwardâ arrow that appeared under the June 6 toon that loaded. I guess I wonât be visiting GoComics again. Good by to some greater posters.
While Tiffany was very correct in pointing out to Les that his âforced donationâ to Ann is due to his own problematic behavior, in todayâs comic, I do see real value and honesty in Lesâs bigger pointâŠ.
1) Tom (Cat) Ferrell is not really fulfilling the paternal needs for his daughter, grantedâŠ.. but he is supporting her financially⊠which is a whole helluva lot more than Les appears to ever have received from Ann.
2) So, at some level it is understandable that Les feels the situations he and Tiffany share relative to the Souffle Lingerie incident are really more dichotomous. Just because Tiffany can âlet it goâ does not mean Les is so inclined.
But, for me, a lot of posters are suggesting that Lesâs reaction shows immaturity on his part. I would state that for me, however, I do not feel he is showing a regression towards immaturity. I think he is simply âventingâ to his friend. Expressions of emotions and feelings often are exaggerated for impact when venting.
I think again, the real message he is saying is "Lesâs situation is MORE difficult than TiffanyâsâŠ. and he is having a lot of challenges in terms of the idea of âletting goâ of the situation."
To me, that is an accurate and fairly logical way for Les to feel at the moment. And, therefore is not really what I would call immature. The real proof however, will be the actions he now takes.
I suspect that Gunther is in cartoon prison because the Evanses just cannot come up with a good or compelling story about him. They certainly donât seem to want Tiffany and him to be romantically entangled, but they want him to remain a supportive friend. A G+T romance would be fun, but it does limit their options with those two. For instance, they canât have separate stories any more. Also, unless they want G+T to be a story like Brad and Toniâs, they would have to have a breakup down the line. I agree with that, but I donât see why Gunther couldnât fall head over heels for a new character, or even Tara, if they somehow met. However, I like Tiff just the way she is now with no entangling relations. She has had some real insights about her father, which many people dodge.
@KENHENSE: It is very unlikely that Gunther has Asbergerâs syndrome or is anywhere along the Autism spectrum. I have a cousin with that, and weâve had a lot of info given to us over the years. Gunther is socially awkward. Thereâs a big diffâŠ
I must simplify. How long can Tiffany count on daddyâs financial support? If that support stops, how can she maintain the life style she now enjoys? Her most valuable assets are her looks, but they also have a shelf life. Conclusion: Get serious about college or try to become the trophy wife of some very visible, wealthy, older guy, and have a generous, iron clad pre-nup.
@AIRMAN: Yes, Tiffany enjoys the life that her allowance provides for her, but she didnât want to go to college. She went because her father said she had to (probably as a condition of continued funding for her.) She actually wanted to go to Hollywood to try for an acting career. While most people never actually succeed with that and end up with lots of âday jobsâ while trying (see Jonah), if Tiffany is serious about no longer trying to arrange her life to please her father, she will try that.
_*@DRJEKYLL:* Les stole money earlier from Ann Awful by apparently using her credit card without permission and running up a big bill. Instead of just paying it off herself, Ann seems to have also filed a complaint against her son in the juvenile court division, and Les was ordered both to get a job to repay her and to live with his uncle for court-ordered supervision. (Thus, Al Gray/Grey gets Les a job as the Fuse so the repayments can begin.) This is totally different from the money that Ann stole from those she sold knock-off luxury lingerie toâŠ
Iâm NOT saying that Les was right in stealing $$$ from his mother â far from it; but I would like to know the REAL other side of the story in that one! Donât you wonder at what the extenuating circumstances might have been there?
@KENHENSE: Iâm not a scientist, so I am not up to speed on the debates about whether there is actually an increase in Autism or Aspergerâs Syndrome, or it is just better diagnosed. I just know what weâve been told and learned over the years as we tried to help our cousin, who is now in his 40s and both parents are deceased, so he lives in assisted living. People with Aspergerâs are not just unable to move forward in a relationship, they canât relate. Itâs like they have a blindness to the fact that someone has feelings, needs, expectations, or what. They can understand very well the details needed to do a job, for example, and be very good at those details. If one of the details is that they must be at work at their computer by 6 am, you can count on them for that. But if you are a relative who invites them for dinner frequently, donât expect it to ever occur to the Aspergerâs person to reciprocate, or ask if they can bring something. Donât expect them to be able to talk at that dinner about anything other than their job or their interests, or ask you how you feel. It is just not in them. And that is NOT how Gunther is. He did show empathy to Tiffany when he talked to her about her father situationâŠ
Les is (this time) correct, Tiff. Not the point! And if you are still depending on Tom Farrell financially, you are not yet ready to deal with Grown-Up Life. You are, it seems to me, not in a position to be preaching when you are in a state of denialâŠ.
OK, going to predict the end to this. Letâs see how close I get. Les gets the list from Tiffany and he offers it to his mom in exchange for a cancellation of his debt. Tiffany talks with her dad again and says she will no longer ask for nor receive any money from him while Ann is in the picture. Heâs taken aback and begins to look into the truth and discovers something for himself. Toss in Ann having to pay everyone back from her scam, perhaps, somehow. There. Everyoneâs free from Ann.
Only 214 comments as of 11:01 pm central time? I guess since its not about sex, or Gunther coming in to protect Tiffany from Les, or getting the cops on Ann, but all about the parents, its just boring huh?
