Tabitha does not look happy! I love Burt’s control panel with a visitor. Also the suggestion of his distraction.
We are back safely from the cruise. We went to Canada and Maine instead of Bermuda. Even though it wasn’t our choice of destination we had a great time. The weather was much better than if we had gone to Bermuda. We would go on this cruise again. However the next one will be to Bermuda before hurricane season.
Tabitha looks annoyed. Puck looks curious, maybe he’s watching the birds. Elvis doesn’t appear to know the camera is on him. Looks like he’s grooming himself. Wonder if he’s still on the DNG list or if he’s gust getting ready for Mr. DeMille. (You know, I had to look up the spelling cause I always thought it was Cecil B. DeVille. I also didn’t realize that line was misquoted.)
Per chance, does Tabitha suspect that the reason her feed was “dropped” was because Burt was distracted by something? Maybe a favorite show starting? (A show that a certain rodent appears interested in as well?)
I love the camera catching Elvis grooming. And still looking so dignified. Then again, everything he does is dignified. So excited to see Our IX Lives get some screen time. Yay! There are so many questions still unanswered… (For the record, it is super hard to not be dripping g spoilers right now…) I see burt has one of our favorite mischievous girls hanging out with him; maybe she’s interning… The hay confuses me; weren’t they setting the control room up on the basement laundry room of the BPH? Is this a backup control room in the barn? Inquiring minds need to know!
Good morning and happy Caturday, orbsters and orbabies! I think Tabitha, the alpha female who caught the red dot, will always look mildly miffed. Unless, of course, someone offers her a catnip mouse, or a dose of Our IX Lives.
Just checking in from North Carolina. All promised boops, bumps, purrs, and prayers were received and effective; we didn’t even lose power (a major concern considering my better half requires the use of a motorized wheelchair and Hoyer lift that has to be recharged every couple of days). However, outside our apartment, you can definitely tell something came through … lots of downed branches and other detritus, but we got off insanely easy compared to the folks 150-200 miles away from us. Please consider donating to the Red Cross, Salvation Army, or similar in support of their efforts in Morehead City, Wilmington, New Bern, and other such places.
Back in the day we had a big dish. Before the networks scrambled all their live feeds. Dan Rather picking his nose, on site reporters screaming at camera crew, Elvis wiping the drool off his chin. Those were the days.
That’s right Burt never admit you were caught up in your soaps, with the robber mice no less. Technical difficulties will cover the problem as an answer.
KITTEN UPDATE: So much yet so little to report. The integration into the household appears to be at about 99%. It is as if a switch was flipped. Almost overnight, they decided that this is home, we are the giant two-foot num num givers of legend and there is merit is scritchies on demand.
They come when you call (well, as much as any cat does) and pat the sofa, bed, etc. Still so small compared to the rest, but growing a little every day. They spend very little time in the bathroom now. They join the general morning wake up call on the bed (stomp stomp climb butt butt butt LOOK! TOES! KILL THEM!) And then the stampede down the stairs to the kitchen when Lisa makes her move.
They own the house, fearing nothing. They rocket around at light speed and play with any toy, regardless of prior ownership. The foot of the bed is an especially prime wrestling ring. Mostly between the hours of 11PM and 0-Dark 30. They are making friends with everyone (except Nina “Go…I say go away boy. Ya bother me HISSS”). Shadow just heaves a deep sigh as one or the other plumps down next to her and leans in. The older boys are learning that 4 stampede partners is much better than 2 (Kittens of the Apocalypse comes to mind)
I am still the big dumb one, of little cat value (Lisa is in charge of the food), but good for an occasional rubbies pit stop. Why, just yesterday, Lupin laid down next to me, looked up and began kneading my rib-cage (sniffle sniffle).
In short, they have emerged from feral and now are home. I’ll post here and there, but the greatest task and test is complete. Next up. THE SNIPPING OF THE PARTS. Good thing they can’t read yet. I’ll keep you posted.
At least the BCN Network would be shrewd enough not to send their intrepid feline reporters into a hurricane to get rained on and stand in the wind. Cats are much smarter than that.
I know someone said before they thought the robber mouse with Burt is Agnes, but I’m not sure. We saw Natasha and Alice at the pink house in yesterday’s strip, so it’s either Violet or Agnes. Since we can’t see her eyes, it’s hard to be certain, but I think the one with Burt is actually Violet. She’s darker than Agnes, AND much more brave. Agnes is a dearheart, but so nervous I don’t think she would be out on her own. And for the record, SPOILERS (in replies)
In San Luis Obispo, all local TV stations and most of the radio stations went off the air for over an hour Sunday. Apparently, a fire required rerouting some power lines to the University. It is was quite startling and there was no acknowledgement of the transmitters outage either on the Internet or in local news later that day. Where was Burt when we needed him?

It sounds like “Days of Our Lives” but it looks like “Hollywood Squares.”
