I went to a party last Saturday night. I didn’t get l—d, I got in a fight. It ain’t no big thing.

Afore you know it, Gunther’s mother and Leslie’s uncle will come into the house in order to see how they’re doing.

SO why is Les angry and shutting Gunther down just when he was gonna say “pounce her?”

Repeating myself, Karen is expressing her view of men using little boys.

Hmmm, seems like Gunther found a button. Touchy, touchy.

And he’s about to find knuckle sandwich headed his way. I can’t blame Less. I knew they would cancel each other out too.

When I was a kid, there was a fast paced card game called “hell”. The adults didn’t want to use that word around the children, so they changed the name of the game to “pounce”. Now things have gone full circle.

Is anyone else having to sign in repeatedly? Is anyone else annoyed at having to click “read now” and “show all comments” over and over?

Please note that Gunther did not so much as flinch. ✨

(I assume that is who told them both to shut up.)

You know the fight is serious when he grabs Gunther’s tie.

Les wants to shut Gunther down because he knows what Gunther is saying is the truth and sometimes the truth hurts.

Gunther you are a friend, and will remain so forever. And Tiffany didn’t need a savior.

actually Tiff and Less needed to find the truth about each other out by themselves.

Hmmm, now this is causing me some inner conflict. As much as I think Gunther is a controlling, borderline-emotionally-abusive Nice Guy™ who seems to think he owns Tiffany, I also support anything that’ll knock that disgustingly smug smirk off of Les’s face and make him realize that his view of Tiffany as some object to be claimed is hardly better.

There’s literally nobody to root for here. I just want a plane to crash into their little bachelor pad and wipe them both out.

I’m surprised that it took this long for them to come to blows.

Gunther is about to learn a valuable lesson about provoking people.

I think Les is so mad because he is really not trying to be that guy anymore and Gunther is just throwing his past in his face. Gunther really be acting holier than tho too when he’s not. Les’s mother is Ann Eiffel it’s a miracle that he is actually showing improvement.

Hey Gunther. Be sure to say: “What’s the matter, “Leslie?” Did I just hit a little old nerve??” (POW!!!)

And when you wake, up Press Charges.

I hate to say this, but Les is right, and women do fall for jerks. And Gunther keeps harping about since third grade. If that rule holds good, I’d have married my childhood sweetheart.

Les the deluded still thinking he’s God’s Gift. As I said before, a Legend in his Own Mind.

This has gotten out of control…this strip, that is.

Mrs. Berger and Mr. Gray have come home and Mr. Gray is the one that who yelled “shut up”. Just a crazy theory, stranger things have happened.

Cause he knows Gunther is telling the truth…

Looks like Gunther is the self-appointed moral policeman of the Luanniverse. He may get punched out, followed by the indignity of realizing he stood up for a lost cause.

Way to leave us all without any resolution to this mess…

I’ll give Gunther props for not backing down from Les, and cowering in fear.Maybe “Gunth” is finally growing a pair…?

Gunther does have a point. All night long, Les has been talking about Tiff as if she was a conquest, a piece of meat, practically drooling with sexual innuendos. Even if Gunth wasn’t attracted to Tiff, as a friend, listening to that all night, would worry me and piss me off too.

Punch him while he’s posing, Gunther.

Congratulations, Les, Gunther can now have you charged with assault.

The truth hurts, doesn’t it?

This will hurt. But Gunther did well to tell him those things. I like the way he looks at Les fearless.

How close did Gunther hit to home, to escalate to that response? You’re a “sleazy dirtbag”? Or you just want to “pounce” Tiffany? Which one it is will hint at the future of the Dumbnamic Duo. And, most likely , their relationship with Tiffany.

Maybe Les just talks tough, and that’s not really what he wanted.

Gunther needs to whip a 9mm out and put a bullet through Leslie Knox’s putrid brain. Can’t stand that SOB.

Odds maker time re Monday’s strip:

It’s always sad when Felix and Oscar squabble.

And one may end up taking a “silly walk” back to jail. And the other should be nominated for “twit of the year.”

It’s about time someone punched the whining little darling.

and why do I think that this might be the keystone moment that brings Gunther out of his milquetoast persona, as he pounds the bully into the ground?

This whole story line ticks me off so much. And people coming for Tiff like SHE’S the problem tick me off even more. Listen, Tiff has never shown either of these guys that she’s interested in them romantically. She’s treated them like friends. She set up some time to hang out with friends, she even said as much to Gunth. It’s Gunth and Les’ own assumptions that made it something more and pit one against the other. Why? Because she’s a woman and wanted to have a male friend… who now thinks he’s entitled to her romantically. And despite Tiff not doing a thing more than being a friend, she’s being blamed for the ‘nice guy’ Gunth and the ‘bad boy’ Les going at each other, when really, she’s not to blame for their sense of entitlement.

This story line will eventually lead to Gunther being the best/only friend Les has ever had. After the fight he’ll understand Les in the way he’s come to understand Tiffany.

The truth is that women love bad boys and nice guys always finish last… Be honest now ladies…

NOTE : look closely at the black balloon for the “SHUT UP” and you’ll see one little curly piece at the back bottom , not following the pattern of the other jagged spikes ( which indicate force of what’s being said) … that little curly piece is pointing down at Les.

no, Tiffany or Mr Gray are NOT there. It was meant to indicate Les as saying it.

MORE IMPORTANT: Who is shouting ’Shut Up"?

Well, boys and girls, I guess we’ll have to wait ’til Monday to find out how or if this is resolved. (Unless G and K decide to take us on a different arc…….Oh, look…Puddles is chasing a butterfly!)

These two are such a cute couple!

Well it’s not surprising that the way these panels are drawn this scene would occur. I think that Les saying “SHUT UP” means that not only is it hurting to Les to be thought of that way, but he really does not mean to do with Tiffany what Gunther, with his judgmental and jealous self is implying. If Tiffany ever came on to Les sexually he would run the other way so fast because he is not really ready for that kind of relationship. Neither of them really are. One thing is pretty clear: this arc will continue next week.

Maybe on Monday, Gunther will have a black jail.

In light of current events, I can’t imagine a more insensitive story line for a comic.

This arc needs to be over……………

Too much talking. FIGHT! FIGHT! (My money’s on Les)…

This is the least believable story arc in this strip that I’ve ever seen. A dweeb, a greaseball and a rich, newly overweight girl. Yeah, sure.

I’ve always said that this strip was a variation on the Archie series, and this installment underscores the point. Instead of Betty and Veronica maintaining their BFF relationship while competing for Archie, here we have Reggie and Archie (well, more like Reggie and Dilton, actually) as roommates, yet going at one another over Veronica. It’s all good……

I know this will draw a lot of heat. Gunther needs to get his butt kicked. Someone should have had this talk with him long ago. You can not let you alligator mouth overload you humming bird butt. Gunther is reading and willing to hurl insults. A verbal assault often leads to a physical one. If you are going to run your mouth you must be ready to become violent. This is the way the world works. You yell insults and get in someone face and violence is a predictable outcome.

Yes Gunther, pipe down. You’re taking it way to far and are asking for Les to give you a hostile reaction. Gunther is being so self-destructive right now he’s going to have 0 friends real soon.

My read is simple. Gunther is way out of line. Les may have been a creep in HS but many were, in one way or another but was Gunther really any better?

Gunther is interfering with Tiffany’s decisions and “protecting” her from herself because he knows better but, in reality, Gunther doesn’t really know anything. He’s just assuming that he knows better than Tiffany who’s demonstrated that she’s quite capable on her own.

Les is a blowhard. Not much more to say about him. That doesn’t mean that his intentions regarding Tiffany are negative. It’s possible that Les simply doesn’t know how to have positive interactions because they’ve been absent from his life and is forced to figure it out on his own. That’s a hard road.

All of the above said, I can’t believe Im commenting like this on a comic strip.

Fight…fight…fight!!!

Hope Gunther knows a good surgeon.

Hope Les knows a good lawyer.

Gunth is right……but he really needs to learn when to not go to far.

So Gunth actually admitted he’s her “nice guy” beta orbiter. And he understands that the “bad boy” gets the girl.

Gunther doesn’t back down (as noted earlier by some). And we really don’t know where the ‘Shut Up’ remark came from, just yet. Les?! Tiff?!

That punch would be fully deserved.

Even if Les does in fact want to get it on with Tiffany, that’s none of Gunther’s business. I don’t recall that she ever appointed him to be her guardian. That’s a role that Gunther has assumed for himself (more nearly out of hatred for Les than out of fondness for Tiffany).

Who is yelling, “Shut up!” I hope it is Ann Eiffel. That would make this plot much more interesting!

Les does Not like to hear the Truth.

IOW, he’s got the ability to feel Shame & Guilt when it’s pointed out to him.

Otherwise, he’d be “High Fiving” Gunther instead of getting Mad.

I believe when Monday comes Tiffany will be one who yells shut upAnd then the lecture will begin

Uh OH… now it comes out, how these two really feel about each other. Up until now they have made good show of trying to get along..but no more…. whoo boy…. yikes.

when was the last time a dialog balloon was black? black is extreme anger or maybe hatred.

Where is Tea Fanny? Consulting with a plastic surgeon? Would be wiser to go to an automobile repair shop. They might be able to salvage TF’s avatar. As for yesterday’s accusation that I used my connections to alter Tea Fanny’s image, that is preposterous. As the Dice Man famously said, “I was out havin’ coffee wit da boys.“wee lee?” =snerk= “Yeah.”

Gunther is about to be pummeled, as Leslie seeks to defend his, not Tiffany’s, reputation from Gunther’s accusations and implications….

What ever happened to Luann? This is nuts and not much of a comic!

Uh, Les, I don’t think Gunther is the type of guy whose tie you can just grab anymore.

Here’s how it ends! Ex Ann Eiffel employee, Bernice, will call the cops and remind them that there is an outstanding warrant out on Ann and she can be found at Tom Farrel’s house! :o)

Make comics fun again. These folks are downers.

I think Les is a big talker where the gals are concerned. He was interested in Pru, but very far off the mark. They became friends. He remained friends with Tiffany despite her weight gain. He was so focused on liberating himself from his mother that he missed an opportunity with Tiffany. Remember when she bared a shoulder, but covered up when Les mentioned friendship. Perhaps, he doesn’t mind talking big about Tiffany, but doesn’t want Gunther saying it.

Oh, Gunther, if you want to say what you want, then you better be prepared for any type of blow back. You stepped over the bounds with Tiffany and now are doing it again with Les.

I remember a time when a fistfight would settle boundaries and could end with friendship or respect.
