In related news, three of our neighborhood’s abandoned cats—Callie, Maya and Eight-Ball—are now safely placed with a fostering group. They’re out of the cold weather, will get proper veterinary attention and will be helped to adjust to life with people they can trust.
The story is winding down. Will Puck be saved in time for All Saints Day? Or will his soul be leaving the evil steamer on All Souls Day? Tune in tomorrow to find out what happens next on Operation Rescue Puck!
Speaking of making big noise, Ember was doing so this morning as she has been having almost as arduous a day as Puck has. First her Boy disappeared yesterday and didn’t come back (he went to visit his girlfriend at college and … um … “suddenly realized” it was too late to drive back, so he stayed overnight). Then her Man and Woman started screaming and clapping for no apparent reason shortly before 11:30 last night and then stayed up until almost 1:00 watching the big glowing box on the wall. Then the Man completely disrupted the morning routine by feeding her himself, except he apparently didn’t give her the right food. (Maverick has a renal formula, she doesn’t, and I got them mixed up.) Not that this stopped her from eating it, mind you, but she was still quite vocal about her displeasure over the changes.
The Jasper update for this week: I’m waiting for one of his vets to call me back today but I think he’s going to have to see an orthopedic doc for his leg. It isn’t getting any better and trying to reason with what is essentially a rambunctious puppy doesn’t work. The swelling has partially gone down but not completely and now he’s out of pain meds and NSAIDs. Getting in and out of bed and the car hurt him the most but they are the things he likes to do the most. At least he’s learned to put his front feet on the ground before getting off the 3 1/2’ high bed. Now if I could just get him to stop following me around like a puppy….
I used to think having new strips only on Monday and Thursday was torturous. We are blessed to have them daily now, but I want the next one RIGHT THIS MINUTE!
I don’t know why I missed this earlier, but all the stars and crescents on the trunk make me wonder if this trunk might have belonged to a magician… or is it…. a magic trunk?!?
Although I am not on Face Book, a friend sent me a copy of a Post Georgia just did. Its a good message and great picture of Elvis, with a little Lupin butt thrown in for good measure.
If you missed it Georgia has 3 original paintings up on eBay raising money for a friend. You can read her post on last Wednesday for more details. It was kind of late so some might have missed it. The auctions end today. For those of you who have the funds and might like a Georgia Dunn original here are the links:

An almost forgotten moment in the history of hating candy corn—about twenty years ago I dropped in on my sister and found a large container of candy corn on the counter. Knowing she hated the stuff as much as I did, of course I asked “WHYYYYYY?!?!?!” It turned out that the container also held at least an equal amount of salted peanuts. She had gotten the recipe from someone at work. “Taste it, but make sure you get some peanuts with the candy corn,” she said. I reluctantly complied…and it was delicious! That mixture somehow tastes almost exactly like Payday candy bars and you can adjust the proportions to your own taste. Having said that, I’ve never felt called upon to make it myself—rather just have a real Payday bar! Happy trick-or-treating to all!
Is is locked or merely latched? Tabitha may not know the difference. (To most cats, there is no difference.) If it’s just latched, they have to wedge a claw beneath the latch and ease it loose. If it’s actually locked, they may need Natasha and her needles… or The Woman and her thumbs.
A message from Georgia on the BCN Website: “Georgia Dunn – Breaking Cat News16 hrs · Thank you so, so much to everyone who has followed ‘Breaking Cat News’ on GoComics the past two days (and to everyone following before, too!) We hit 10,000 followers today!!! ❤️ When I set out to explain the tracker ads, I didn’t realize how many people would read about how the follower-numbers help and immediately join up. We were over 200 people away from 10,000 Friday, and had been so-close-yet-so-far for a spell! I appreciate all of your support and words of encouragement!”

Monday, Monday, be good to Puck!
Monday morning, spread the warning,
he’s had ’bout enough!
On Monday morning they should all be warming
in front of the stove,
and winding ‘round their Woman’s feet
so she can’t move.
Every single day, every single day, every single day we’ve been waiting and wailing!
Hoping little Pucky, hoping little Pucky, hoping little Puckly they will find — just in time!
Monday, Monday! We still hope yet!
Help in coming, from unknown comers we haven’t met yet.
So all together, we’ll help Pucky weather, this situation!
And join once more in front of kibble bowls filled with love!

I’m not an expert, but l believe a spirit can move matter on the human plane if there is enough focus (ref. “Ghost”)
