You’re a little tardy, Tara.

Oh, Tara was late just because she was getting (extra) refreshments?! (Slide side note: Alfred Yankovic was off by three when he guessed how many molecules were on Leonard Nimoy’s buttocks.)

It is a wonder the pizza is still hot. Either that or that is a hair sticking up from the pizza box.

Maybe Tara’s being tardy is by design? She possibly wanted Jack & Luann to have some quiet time together. wink

Ah so here’s Tara, FINALLY. I KNEW she could take care of herself. But, what about “studying?” Unless Ms. Starr is a Genius, she’s probably going to want to copy off of either Jack or Luann’s test paper which will put those two in a bit of a “moral dilemma.” Or, she has “liberated” (STOLEN) a copy of the test and will share it with her friends, and thereby presenting yet another “moral dilemma.”

Or, she’ll insist on L and J hanging around for another two hours to “help” HER study, presenting a “pain in the neck.”

Well at least she bought Pizza, like a Good Ninja Turtle……,

Now we know Tara hasn’t met with a calamity. Let’s hear why you ditched the group study date. Why you ignored calls from Luann. Here I am sitting, enthralled to hear what you will say.

Bribery is not going to excuse Tara for being a total putz. So she’s late. So she’s toting a pizza.

Tara claims to have a new phone – is she that clueless she could not call to let others know she’ll be late? To quote someone, Tara – You’re Fired!

For all the worrying they did, it should been four pizzas.

Tara is inconsiderate and counts on getting by by being a good time.

Is it my imagination, or is Jack starting to look less like a caricature and getting more good-looking?

I think Tara is late because she wants to give those two time alone. I think she’s playing “matchmaker”.

In later engineering classes, they’d put us i to 5 member design teams. There was always that one student…

If the height of the pizza is a, and the ratio of the pizza is z, then the volume of the pizza is pi(zz)a.

Maybe she just got here straight from performing her court-ordered community service, which she has to do every week for the next year?

Hey, Tara’s only hurt herself. Luann and Jack apparently got a lot of studying done and have just finished, and now it’s break time. If Tara didn’t get any study time, well that’s her problem.

Tara brings the fun and gave much needed private time to Luann and Jack.

Just remember: No matter what kind of camera you use, Tara will always be a little out of focus.

A question for folks here…. today, when I first logged on, a pop-up came on first that said “Fewer clicks, more funny….” I “x’d” out of it and just logged in normally.

My question is…. Do any of your know if this is a) just a new screen to try to encourage folks to be paid members, or b) is this some new version of the site that may be in “beta” form that we will eventually all have to adopt? Just curious…. especially if any has chosen the path of “Fewer clicks, more funny….”.

Flaky Tara comes into the picture just about at the end of studying…. with a pizza. Hmm.

Some folks have commented that perhaps Tara is going to ask the dynamic duo to allow her to cheat from their exams…. I certainly hope that is not the turn of events. And, at least to my manner of thinking….. I tend to doubt Tara gives much of a hoot about her grades anyhow. I tend to get a read on her that she doesn’t really care if she gets an “A” or an “F”…. it is all immaterial to her and her “live in the moment” lifestyle.

It is somewhat humorous to me that Ms. Starr is wearing a star on her sweater. It sort of gave her a “Laverne” vibe (of Laverne & Shirley fame) to me.

Now I am already wondering about tomorrow and if there will be a) a discussion between the three of them because Tara is tardy, or b) we may jump to the exam itself. And…. will the arc stop Saturday and we switch to a new story…. or will this continue onward?

Although I have been liking the frequent switches in the story arcs…. I would not be opposed to this one continuing for a third week… it has been very well done.

Everyone is wondering just where all this “Tara, Tara, Tara” stuff is going. So, given Greg’s proclivities, tomorrow will end in an even deeper enigma and Monday he will change arcs and leave us hanging on the cliff face once again! (Arrrrgggghhhh!!!) (Sorry for the pirate expletive.)

I knew some folks like that from college days who would show up late for study session – yet bring no ‘offering’. The reception tended to be chilly…

that is the easiest college chemistry midterm I have ever seen or heard of.

Let’s give them the benefit of the doubt. The final question was probably supposed to be, “How many molecules are in 2.5 liters of nitrogen at 300 degrees Kelvin and a pressure of 1.5 atmospheres, and of those what fraction have a speed of between 100 and 200 meters per second?”

Yeah, the actual question would have been, “How many molecules are in a box containing nothing but 10 atoms of oxygen?”, since after all we want Luann eventually to graduate, right?

I don’t see Tara as necessarily cheating on a test to get by, because she doesn’t seem to be a person who cares if she fails a class. I see Tara as the type of kid in college who is there because it’s the ‘next thing to do’ after high school, rather than get a job, and she sees college as just a place to have fun and hang out with friends…

Questions like that, and this is supposed to be college chemistry? Degrees from this school must be worth less than the paper they’re printed on.

Don’t.Read. Comments! I seem to remember having friends in college who were not shall we say within the norm, but I still liked them, and lo and behold, some of them ended up doing very well in life. Oh, sorry, I read some of the darn judgmental comments. (:- I am withholding judgement until I see where this arc is heading. Right now there is not enough information to make a judgment about Tara, or what happened to her, or whether she cares about college or not. She cares about friends that is one thing I can tell. Lets see from there I say.

Who did she have to bribe to pay for it?

In my last job it was my job to get donuts on my way in on Friday. I could e a half hour late, and nobody would care.

Oh Tara, you seem to always be a day late and a dollar short.

Now I hope that Luann and Jack don’t lose their calm and ask Tara to sit down and tell them what problems she has.

Tara just forgot to reset her watch to Luaniverse time after returning from whatever space-time-continuum she has been to in recent weeks.

Tara really knows how to push “Better Late than Never” to the Limits of sanity.

But, she’ll have an “Explanation” that somehow, never actually gets made.

I predict Jack will want to “dig in” to the pizza and will then feel obligated to bring Tara up to speed.

I suspect the answer to the interrupted question is 6.023×10^23……

I am not sure how many molecules are in pizza, but I am very glad to see it arrive, along with Tara, that near-adult delinquent!

tomorrow: big reveal or blow up? ( or both?)

Tara would have contributed nothing useful to the study session (since she didn’t participate in the class, and she is relying just on Jack’s notes). By skipping the study session she was hurting only herself, not Luann and Jack. They don’t have any reason to feel “betrayed” by her absence, just curious as to why.

Maybe Tara already knows and understands the study material. She may have spent the precious night studying till one in the morning……maybe maybe maybe…teens are simply teens….wait till she is 70 and see what she prefers to do….eat pizza or hold hands with some cute ’older ’ guy….

Tara is one of those people who considers herself a free spirit but is in fact socially immature. It isn’t that she is rude so much as the feelings of others never register to her.
