Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
With 35 comments already, I’m not going to read them or expect that anyone will read this one, but I am so happy that “Breaking Cat News” is so popular. May Georgia Dunn get as rich and famous as she deserves and wants!
Our IX lives reminds me of General (Generous) Hospital and the summer of Luke and Laura. Can still remember all the people (male and female) that would crowd into the Commons room at IU to watch the big screen TV they had in there. Kit reminds me of Luke – Angora like Laura? Maybe….8)
Happy Funday, orbsters and orbabies! Our IX Lives is back, yay! Looking forward to the trials and tribulations of Angora and Kit.
It’s freezing here, -27C, -38C with the wind chill. I think I’ll stay in today. Re my trials and tribulations with the living room TV, I decided I’d try another plug yesterday to see if the problem was with the power bar plug. In doing so, I banged my head hard against the base of the TV and the power cord came out from the back. BIL is coming over later today to help straighten everything out, as re-inserting the power cord is a 3-person job.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥Thank you to all the wonderful orbsters (including our Great Orb Leader, Georgia!) for the kindness shown to my beloved MIL & BIL
Mom does have cancer, but it seems to be very small and in one area. We are going with her Wednesday.
The surgery is outpatient! Amazing! I remember the horrible days when breast cancer was a death sentence and now they have outpatient surgery!!! Those pink ribbon volunteers, researchers & dedicated medical teams do wonderful things! Boops beyond enumeration to them all!!!
Of course, there will be radiation treatments & anything else deemed necessary, but for now, things are looking very positive. This is all made so much more bearable thanks to all of you, and our beloved SweetBri (AKA LadyBri), who, despite her own problems & worries, was our go-between. Manifold boops, hugs, purrs & nosies for all!!!
Am going to be making soups to put in portions for my BIL to warm up, & buying a few easy-do meal options. He’s a lousy cook. Soups should be easier to eat while dealing with Bell’s Palsy. My Dad had that. Scary, but he should do OK.
Not going to post much this week, but I just had to thank everyone! Georgia’s BCN Mega Orb is the loveliest place in the cyber world!
YOU’RE THE REASON WHY!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Love, >^.,.^<
Do wish to remember all the orbsters who also are dealing with sadness & ills! Sheila, Jan, Brein, and so many of you shouldering heavy burdens, I am remembering and lifting you all! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
I love, Our IX Lives! But I wonder what other shows there could be. Home improvement could be,‘This Old Scratching Post.’ A reality show could be,’ Real House Cats of Atlanta!’And a kid show could be, ’ Paper Bag Patrol!’
A relatively recent fan, I’m wondering if the news crew has ever discovered the delights of kitten kibble. Searches suggest they have not and may someday encounter a great new experience.
Findus, our young adult, is okay with cat kibble. He LOVES, ADORES, RAVISHES the kitten variety. It’s better than any known cat treat; even better than play with the busy box; to be desired even beyond chin rubs. He does not get it for his regular diet (life is hard and owners can be cruel) so regular food does get eaten. Eventually.
Kitten kibble even has a part in ritual. Findus is not allowed in the bedroom at night (life is hard and owners can be cruel #2) so has adopted excellent stalk and dart strategies to overcome the unfair restriction. As a distraction (cruel owners can also be clever), he is presented at the crucial moment with his food dispensing mouse (aka Indoor Hunting Cat Feeder) filled with kitten kibble. Oh my! It’s not possible to even contemplate a bedroom dart when presented with the object of high desire.
The ritual part is performed earlier in the evening when the food mouse is filled. Out comes the kitten kibble. Charlie the dog appears on the floor to deal with the small “accidents” that always send bits his way. Findus leaps onto the desk to carefully supervise, grab some tastes and peer down to make sure Charlies has not missed anything. When full, the mouse ascends to a high glass fronted shelf to await the magic hour.
I know it’s late and I will try this again tomorrow, but have any Orbsters tried the CBD (hemp) oil for various ailments, and if so, what was your experience with it?

Dog-wash! I love it! Is there anything more repulsive to a cat than water with dog-filth and soap in it?
Olive O'Sudden about 6 years ago
OMC, it’s my favourite soap opera! I love Angora eating her mushy foods out of an elegant crystal dish!

Is that tin foil on one of the rabbit ears antenna on Burt’s TV?
jimmjonzz Premium Member about 6 years ago
Angora’s red bodice put me in mind of a bit from a poem by T.R. Hummer…
…which is like trying to teach
The cat to waltz, so much awkwardness, so many tender advances, and I’m shocked when it actually learns
When it minces toward me in a tiny cocktail gown, offering a martini, asking for this dance, insisting on hearing me refuse
To reply, debating all along, in the chorus of its interior mewing, who are you really, peculiar animal, who taught you to call you you.
This is from his book After the Afterlife. Though I’ve lost touch, he and I were good friends in college.

Met him on a Monday and my heart did race,
Da do ron ron ron, da do ron ron
Somebody told me that his name was Chase
Da do ron ron ron, da do ron ron
Yeah, my heart did race, yeah his name was Chase
Yeah, and when he rode me home
Da do ron ron ron, da do ron ron
……..
Daddy doesn’t like him and I don’t know why
Da do ron ron ron, da do ron ron
But every time I see him he makes me sigh
Da do ron ron ron, da do ron ron
Yeah, I don’t know why, yeah he makes me sigh
Yeah, and when he rode me home
Da do ron ron ron, da do ron ron
